Gostilna-restavracija Avsenik — Restaurant in Radovljica

Arriving at Avsenik was already enjoyable thanks to the music playing in the background, creating a great atmosphere. The restaurant has two main areas: an older, smaller, and somewhat crowded section, and a more modern, spacious area where we were lucky to be seated — this part seems to also host weddings and bigger events. I definitely recommend making a reservation since some tables are limited and can get busy.

The staff was very friendly and dressed in traditional clothes similar to what the musicians wear, which added a nice cultural touch to the experience.

As for the food, the burger was good — juicy and well-seasoned, with fresh buns and tasty toppings. However, I still regret not choosing something more traditional from the menu. I hope one day I can return and try those dishes to get the full...

Avsenik, among people not from Slovenia, might be a less known surname. In Slovenia it is a part of Slovenia's cultural heritage, or to be more precise , the family is one of the pillars of Slovenian music. Excuse me for this long introduction into a restaurant review. But since you can not eat at Avsenik's without listening to the music he composed with his family.. I had to write something about it. About the restaurant- it is well known since many family Sunday TV shows took place there. About the food- just perfect! SLOVENIAN CUISINE at it's best. This was one of my best restaurant experiences ever. Everything was just perfect, the ambiance, the staff, the food, just mesmerising. The restaurant itself is located in the idyllic village of Begunje located in the Gorenjska Region. It was once the home of our greatest musician brothers Slavko and Vilko Avsenik and today it continues their legacy through food.
