Vila Podvin, Slovenija — Restaurant in Radovljica

Me, my girlfriend and our 4-month old cocker spaniel stayed at Vila Podvin for 3 nights and had a lovely time. A short recap of a review that follows is that the staff is really friendly, professional and willing to help. The room, the property and location are nice and convenient, especially if travelling with a dog. The food was absolutely delicious.||The room and the property itself - cozy restaurant terrace and a beautiful garden - were absolutely great. Whenever you want to have a cup of coffee, glass of vine or even just seat outside and enjoy the greenery, you simply step outside. It is also extremely convenient for anyone traveling with a dog. The location is also really nice with Radovljica 5min away by car. Lake Bled and Bohinj as well as the river Sava Bohinjka with all the mountains around offer many beautiful places to visit. ||We were positively surprised by the extreme willingness of the staff to help and make our stay as nice as possible. One example of that was preparing an amazing midnight snack the first night, when the kitchen was already closing and they even rounded it off with a chocolate-ball dessert. Needless to say, all the staff was friendly and helpful.||The dinning experience was also above and beyond our expectations, even though we were expecting a really nice food. The combinations you get on a plate, the flavors and textures are simply delicious and extremely enjoyable. All in all it was probably the best dinner we ever had.||We also met the owner of the place, who was very kind and accessible and took her time to personally make sure that everybody...

Vila Podvin iz now a Michelin star restaurant. I was there yesterday and a year ago and two years ago and .... beileve me many times. And as far as I am concerned... now that a star is attached in front of the entrance it is the same. The place was close to star level for years. What is (and was) in my personal oppinion nice is kind of formal/informal staff attitude. You might like it or not but for me it is a refreshment to this kind of restaurants. Food ... the guys from Michelin said it all. Who am I to judge. Flatware nice ... plates interesting and coffe served in a chipped cup .... well it happens. Wine list ... way out of my comfort zone to comment but Primorska region (in my comfort zone) is let me say close to decently represented.

And a cherry on the cake. You can, on some days in week, have a Radolca lunch. Goes for like 70 EUR for two. Way to go.

But is it the best one starr restaurant in Slovenia? Naaa ... Zemono beats it by far! Well .. just my opinion. As always I might be...
