Average food and terrible service. Unethical place, don't recommend, and definitely will not go again.
We didn't order the prefix menu, although the wait staff and hostess kept pushing it; because we didn't have time. The hostess not only got our order wrong, she became defensive and started lying about what they actually served us. I ordered venison with celery and some kind of Berry sauce, one of our friends ordered veal prepared two ways. I specifically asked the hostess what were the two ways they prepare the veal, she couldn't explain and just keep saying shoulder and back. I asked her if it's two different cuts of veal prepared the same way, she said yes. I thought that was strange but ordered it nevertheless because there were only three choices of main course on the menu. What we got was completely different than what we ordered! We were both served the exact same looking dish -- neither celery nor two ways/cuts of anything! It was a piece of loin with something; so bland I can't even remember what it was. When I asked her if that was venison or veal, she said venison, so I said to her my friend ordered veal. She became rude and defensive. Kept asking us if everything was ok; well, it's obviously NOT OK. When we told her my friend doesn't eat venison, she started saying that it was veal... I reminded her that I ordered venison, she became irritated and said they never had venison to begin with, only veal and lamb! Well, why not tell us at the start when we ordered?! Why put on the menu thing you don't have!!! Even if that's veal as she claimed, it still doesn't match what was written on the menu - prepared two ways OR what she said -- should and back. It was just a piece of meat grilled and cut in half.
Just incredible! Rude and very average food. Terrible experience.
It's as though she never even bothered to pay any attention to what we ACTUALLY WISH TO EAT, just as long as they can dish out whatever's in the kitchen and charge for it. I've been here before covid, very different experience. Not surprised people got food poisoning; they don't even seem to know what they have and what...
Read moreOur experience at Repovž Gostilna was truly delightful. Meeting the family, now in their 7th generation, gave such a warm and personal touch to the visit.
The accommodations were fantastic—quiet, beautifully appointed, and I had the best night’s sleep in ages.
The food was nothing short of extraordinary. Every course showcased creativity, local produce, and genuine passion for gastronomy.
If you are seeking a gastronomic experience, it is absolutely worth the journey—whether as a day trip for lunch or, better yet, an overnight stay with a gourmet dinner (and to-die-for gourmet breakfast).
Highly recommended for anyone who values authentic hospitality and fine dining in a...

Ambient very rustic and homey 5/5
Everything on the plates was very good to exceptional. In all courses you could taste the quality of ingredients, nothing was over seasoned in order to hide average cooking skills or ingredients.
The dish that really stood out was definitely green beens with purple potato crisps and zucchini puree.
Service very professional, chefs visit at the table was like the cherry on the top. 5/5
As always white wine from Guerila was great, modra frankinja from Ernst Triebaumer also didn't disappoint. 5/5
