"wow" place to eat and visit. If you want to taste special dishes from north Slovenian region, THIS is the place. Lovely stews, perfect gnocchi . Btw, i was happy to drink great ( Pilsner ) beer ! For those, travelling towards Austria is Karavla 297 compulsory stop . Thanks also to wonderful staff, explaining every dish. Lovely restaurant in wonderful corner of Slovenia.

We had a wonderful lunch. I had great mushroom soup and my husband enjoyed the venison stew accompanied by house made mixed grain bread. The lemon tart and chocolate cake were excellent. Do make sure to visit the museum below the restaurant. It’s small but very well done to share the history of the building of the nearby tunnel to Austria in WWII and the concentration camp prisoners who labored...

It’s an absolute gem! I really recommend to eat there if you are around. The food is very very good and fresh, we liked everything but especially the dark buckwheat homemade bread stood out! The lady who owns the place is very sweet too. The whole atmosphere is home-like and welcoming. Thank you a lot, also for the olive oil and bread. We will come back...
