Bad service, good food, nice view.

The food we had was amazing. We had the 4 course menu, which was €44 per person. For that we got a cold and hot starter, a main course and dessert. You could choose between fish or meat. We chose the fish. Everything was very nicely prepared and presented. In our opinion we got a lot for the price we payed. Our children (5 and 7) shared a main course which was nicely divided into 2 plates and very royal. They had more than enough and put together for an adult was a very nice portion.

The tables were divided between the waiters. So unfortunately we got the same unfriendly haughty waiter the entire evening. The way he acted was really diminishing. If I asked about the options to eat for the children it was like he was giving away a piece of his soul to answer my question. All the time not looking me in the eye when I was talking to him.

We had to wait a very long time before he 'found' the time to take our order, and then an even longer time to get a wine menu, and then again ages for us to get our drinks..

When serving us our food we didn't get a decent explanation on what he was serving us, only some inaudible mumbling as he was already walking away from our table.

When asking for the check I clearly asked him if he wanted me to come inside with him as we were paying by card. He said he was going to bring it to the table.. 15min later ... still had no check. He was too busy serving other tables. When asking him again about the check he pretended as if he didn't know if we were going to pay cash or card..

So overall, you have to be lucky with the waiter you get. We saw 1 waiter who was really friendly, serving you the wine you ordered (we had to serve ourselves because we apparently were unimportant to our waiter), with a smile. The food is really nice for the price you pay and the view is incredible.

Just a really...

I highly recommend this restaurant, booking advised. It is a small and cozy place to have a fabulous meal in a welcoming and elegant atmosphere. The menu offers a range of dishes covering the Mediterranean cuisine, suitable for vegetarians as well. Upon calling ahead one can also have gluten free alternatives to bread. Giving notice to the kitchen on my dietary requirements my dishes were prepared gluten and lactose free using fresh utensils and the chef tried to keep cross contamination to a minimum. However, they do not have a designated area to prepare dishes separately. I have not had any issues after my meal. The dishes are made to order, ingredients are fresh and tasteful, the spices are well balanced and rich. Waiting time is acceptable and the dishes are appealingly arranged. The waiters are welcoming, alert, and swift yet not stressed or rushing. They also know the menu very well and their recommendations are to the point, they answer all questions patiently. It has been my second visit and I’ve enjoyed a lovely evening with a fantastic view from the patio. My first visit was in the winter season 2021 and the menu was slightly different due to seasonal availability of ingredients. I recommend to have a try at both...

"The chickenfinger" or "Failing to be fancy". We were welcomed with a "can you even afford this look" - which is okay because we arrived there in beach wear. I went for the steak with vegetables and a side salad. Halfway through the steak I was remembering the side salad that never happened to find the way to our table. What I did find however was a chicken nugget in my vegetables. When the waiter was picking up our dishes I asked if I misread that there was a side salad with my dish. Turns out they just have forgotten it offering to still serve it after my meal (as a dessert I suppose?). I asked for the salad to be discounted from the bill but apparently that was not possible. I would have been really happy if they had just offered me some compensation in the form of an espresso or so but unfortunately that seems just myself having too many expectations. So if you hate salad and love chicken fingers I would highly recommend coming here.

The view is kind...

We came to this pleasant restaurant for lunch. We were immediately served excellent sparkling wine, which was accompanied by a greeting of liver pate from the kitchen. Since it was calamari week, we ordered this. One baked in the oven with potatoes, porcini and mozzarela, one stuffed with camembert cheese, zucchini, bell pepper, celery and polenta. Both were excellent. The wines, Pinot Noir and Rhine Riesling, also went very well together with these dishes. A real indulgence followed, as we drank a very special wine with gluten-free chocolate cake (three different layeŕ), which went perfectly. The service was friendly, fast and professional, and the price was reasonable. We will come again and we recommend a visit.

Kamin has a really nice terrace so visit during summer in recommended. Interior in kind of interesting as it is a relatively successful attempt to smooth old socialistic architecture. Wine list is extensive. Actually I am not shure if I ever seen a longer wine list in Slovenia. I don't understand the concept of it ( seems like bits and pieces from everywhere) but who am I to judge. But the food ..... It is hard to find words to describe the surprise that such a pathetic level of cooking is still tolerated in a kind of classy restaurant. A collosal disappointement.
