Gostilna Ukmar — Restaurant in Upravna enota Sežana

We ate at this place twice, both times during dinner hours. The first time, we had the Balkan platter for two, which was very tasty — I recommend everyone give it a try.

The second time, the waiter suggested we try the goulash, so we did. Compared to the Hungarian version, it was different but still flavorful. We also had the Karst steak, which was delicious — a real taste experience, but only for the brave.

Overall, I’d say it’s a nice little place. That said, there was only one waiter serving the entire garden area, and he was quite slow — we had to wait about half an hour just to pay.

Friendly prices, tasty food — just what you’d expect from a good countryside inn. One evening they charged us for an extra beer, but we didn’t make a fuss or mention it, since they were clearly short-staffed and...

We just coincidentally stop here, and not hungry at all!!

In a middle of nowhere, wrapped with more than 10 wineries around, great service. Real good food. Its not a tourist area, but do make yourself feel local. Their weekend roast lamb was cooked to perfection( we are lucky on Saturday) Served local wine with local people around. We can tell this is the local favourite. Good stop and cant miss this stop.

Pred parimi leti sem v gostilni Ukmar izredno dobro jedla in ravno zato sem se po ponovnem obisku Krasa ustavila tu. Očitno so se v vmesnem času zamenjali lastniki. Hrana povprečna, še bolj kot to pa me je zmotila strežba. Gostilna ni bila nikoli "fensi" zato nekega nivoja niti ne pričakujem, vendar neke osnovne norme postrežbe v gostilni pa vendarle morajo obstajati. Mlačna natakarica, ki komaj izusti pozdrav v pretegnjeni majici z natikači in vidnimi nogavicami, kot da bi stregla na domačem vrtu, druga streže oblečena v majico z potiskom skupine Pearl Jam, kot da bi bili v vaškem pajzlu. Po mojem mnenju sodeč obe nešolani v gostinstvu saj mlajša od obeh niti pladnja ni znala držati v roki. Ko pa kuharica sama mimogrede postreže zunaj v zamaščenem predpasniku te pa vse mine. Plastična miza brez prta, na katerega bi lahko vsaj papirnate velike prte dali, nekaj drugega je namrec ali je hrana posrežena na plastiki ali pa na leseni mizi. V glavnem vse skupaj ena velika žalost, sploh pa to, da je na meniju prevlada balkanska hrana sredi Krasa. Škoda saj ima gostilna dobro lokacijo in lep senčen vrt. Dokler bodo gostilno vodili ti lastniki mene zagotovo ne...
