Our wedding at Gostilna pri Lojzetu was something truly special. Our wedding day at this enchanting venue surpassed every expectation we had, leaving us and our guests utterly mesmerized by the experience. If we could sum it up in one word, it would be "perfection."
Dvorec Zemono is located atop a hill adorned with vineyards, olive trees, and lush forest vegetation, providing a magnificent view overlooking the Vipava valley. It is a beautifully restored 17th-century manor with a large central cross-shaped hall adorned with magnificent frescoes on the walls. It offers a magnificent terrace that provides excellent views and ample shade on hot summer days.
From the very beginning, the staff at Gostilna pri Lojzetu went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding day was flawless. The event coordinators were not only highly professional but also genuinely caring, making sure that every aspect of our vision was brought to life. They were incredibly attentive to our needs and preferences, making us feel like we were their top priority. The flow of events was seamless, and everything ran like clockwork. Tomaž was omnipresent and oversaw all aspects of service. They dealt with all dietary requirements, were happy to improvise to fulfill last-minute guest wishes, and attended to capricious requests from guests professionally.
One of the highlights of our wedding at Gostilna pri Lojzetu was undoubtedly the exquisite culinary experience. The food was modern, yet still familiar enough to appeal to all our guests. The quality of food was top-notch, from lobsters and finest prosciutto to the delectable mortadella for appetizers, and the mouthwatering gnocchi and beef for main courses. We received countless compliments from our guests on the quality and presentation of the food. The house wine was truly amazing, exceeding our expectations in every way.

This restaurant is a stand-out and a destination in its own! We came with high expectations but the restaurant exceeded them by far!! First of all, the location - not just a cute little hill in an idyllic valley but a historic cave-like cellar that was so beautifully decorated with orchids and impeccable style and attention to detail. Second, the food - great and innovative dishes. You choose vegetarian, meat, fish, or mixed plus the number of courses, the rest is a surprise! This was the first time I had bear meat and was surprised how mild and almost chocolate-like it tasted. Third and foremost, however, even in a country that stands out for the friendliness of its people, the warmth and wit of the family and other staff members was exceptional. They exemplified "service from the heart" - they joked with us, they accommodated us in every respect, and they made us feel infinitely happy and at home. Oh and forth, last but not least, and without spoiling the surprises - the meal is not just food but an experience for ALL senses! We visited Gostilna Pri Lojzetu for a late lunch on our only day in Slovenia and we were absolutely blown away.
The location, set at the Dvorec Zemono mansion on a hill in the picturesque Slovenian Vipava Valley, is one of a kind. The views were incredible and made for a perfect backdrop for our meal.
Chef Tomaž Kavčič and his impeccably trained staff strive to create an immersive display using all of your senses. The dishes are pure works of art, some static, some dynamic. There was a building excitement and anticipation as we waited for each course to arrive wondering how they could possibly top the previous dish.
As for the food, you can tell chef Tomaž strives to maintain a simplicity and elegance in his ingredient selection which results in bold flavors and amazing combinations. Each course was delicious!
