Heritage Park Hotel is the Only Place I’ll Stay in Honiara
After four visits to the Solomon Islands, I’ve learned the hard way that not all accommodations are created equal—especially in Guadalcanal. I’ve had real-life horror stories involving cockroaches, rats, and even a time when our entire 12-person team got sick from black mold. That’s why when we come to Honiara, we splurge for the best. And hands down, the best is the Heritage Park Hotel.
This is my third time staying here, and every time I’m reminded why we keep coming back. From the pristine rooms and breathtaking ocean views to the lush apartments that even U.S. government officials call home, this place is a sanctuary. The pool is perfection—set right by the sea—and there’s even a peaceful sliver of beach where you can watch the tide come in as you sip a fruit punch at the bar.
The breakfast buffet alone is worth the visit, and the overall safety, cleanliness, and comfort are second to none. But what truly makes this place feel like home is the incredible staff. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted with cold fruit juice and a chilled towel—subtle touches that say, “You’ve arrived. Welcome home.” Special thanks to Yash at the front desk, whose kindness and professionalism have been such a blessing to our team.
When someone suggested I stay somewhere cheaper today, I didn’t hesitate to say, “Take me back to my home in Honiara.” That’s what this place has become. I highly recommend Heritage Park Hotel and will continue staying here every time I return. No question—it’s the best in Honiara, and easily the...

This was my third time staying at Heritage Park Hotel, and it absolutely lives up to the hype. After multiple trips to the Solomon Islands—and a few rough experiences elsewhere—I can confidently say this is the only place I’ll stay in Honiara from now on.
The rooms are super clean and well-kept, with beautiful ocean views and comfy beds. The pool is stunning—right by the water—and there’s even a small stretch of beach (that I wish we had access to) where you can watch the tide roll in. It honestly feels like a mini tropical escape.
The breakfast buffet is a total highlight—tons of fresh options and really good coffee. The food throughout the hotel is solid, and the service is consistently top-notch. One thing that really stands out is how the staff goes above and beyond. From the cold juice and towel when you check in, to the friendly greetings every day, you really feel taken care of. Shout-out to Yash at the front desk—he’s been incredibly helpful and kind each time I’ve visited.
It’s also a very safe and peaceful environment, which matters a lot when you’re traveling with a team or just want a worry-free trip. I’ve tried staying in cheaper spots around Guadalcanal in the past, but after getting sick from black mold at one of them, I’ve learned my lesson. This hotel is absolutely worth the extra cost.
If you’re coming to Honiara and want a clean, relaxing, and genuinely welcoming place to stay—this is it. I’ll definitely be back...
