Hangar G5 Pub and Grill — Restaurant in Bonaero Park

As some pipe burst in Bonaero Park and we did not have any water, we decided that we'll try the new Hangar G5 , The place have been revamped, I've been there a couple of times since it's only a block away from my house, I must stress however that I've been at Harvard Cafe, and about three previous places on the same premises. The food was always average., but this time with Hanger G5 I was simply blown away, The service (Thanks TRU) was awesome, and the food was on a next level. I had garlic snails for starters, my wife had crumbed mushrooms...the usual.... until it arrived, I've never seen such large snails, they were a meal in themselves. The women were ooing and aahing about the crumbed mushrooms, and I just knew I was in a place where my taste buds are in for a surprise.I ordered a Steak smothered in snails(yes again, I love the critters) and a creamy garlic sauce. My wife ordered a steak with prawn, mushroom and mussels, with a creamy sauce. I took the steak medium with chips and savory rice, Everything on the plate was at a standard that you do not expect for this price. I was pleasantly surprised. When I mentioned to our waiter that we will be visiting A LOT more, they gave us a membership card that we can build points on, now that was a unexpected nice touch. I am sorry to say, but the other restaurateurs need to sit up and take notes here. Good Service, well priced quality food. You can go to an really expensive place and be fooled with a "If it costs this much it MUST be good", at Hanger G5 the food is better than I tasted at 5 times the price, it really is. I'm telling you now if Gordon Ramsay ever eat here he will make it his place to go eat, but please Gordon, stay away, cause once you lift your opinion I have to pay more...lol. Seriously peeps, just go there, you will be...

Where do one begin?

We used the entrance that is adjacent to Atlas rd Not a soul to greet us at the door

And this after I opted to use your establishment to treat my wife to an eve before our wedding anniversary What an absolute disappointment

We took ourselves upstairs and we were asked where we would like to be seated We opted for the smoking section

All good and well Our waitress, Nyarai was quick to our table once we were seated

She was excellent

But wow, the food was not up to standard at all (except for the starter and drinks) We both had steaks My wife had the Gloster Meteor And I had the Rump 400g special with mushroom sauce Both were done medium as asked

Both our steaks were tough as nails You had to saw through the steak to cut through it and then I have not even mentioned trying to chew through them

The basting on mine was bland The mushroom sauce was bland

When it came to the end, I opted for Malva Pudding with Custard Only to be told "sorry it is out of stock".

Nyarai was always there to check on us But I dare not give her trouble le as she did not cook our steaks and she is not a amanger to check on tables

I was hoping for a manager to come forward and maybe visit our table But that did not happen As he was too busy behind the dj box on his phone

So, for almost 3 hours No manager to visit us

I even left a note in Nyarai's note book And all she did was apologise by the time we had paid and on our way leaving

If this is what you call service, then you really need to jack up on your A game If you do not have an A Game then there is no management involvement either and I am worried that you lack all of that
