Jacky's Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Bothasig

I have been a loyal customer for many years, from the time your establishment was based in Panorama through to your current location in Bothasig. Over the years, I’ve consistently appreciated the quality of your food and the excellent value it offered. However, I’ve noticed a decline in recent months, particularly following what appears to be a change in ownership or management. There have been noticeable increases in pricing, reduced portion sizes, and a decline in overall food quality. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was especially disappointing — the chicken chow mein I ordered was spoiled and inedible. Additionally, I’ve encountered multiple instances where my orders were either incorrect or missing items, requiring me to return to the restaurant. On some occasions, I’ve simply chosen to discard the food rather than go through the inconvenience. My review is based on dinner 15 July and tonight 11 August. I must mention that we have always enjoyed Jacky's in the past. 15 JULY ORDER Ordered the couple combo and when my husband got home, saw the spring rolls were not included. Contacted them and the manager insisted that he gave everything to my husband as he had taken his order himself, he got quite rude. It resulted in a telephonic disagreement between myself and the manager and eventually he admitted that he was in the wrong and the spring rolls were given to another customer. Poor customer service.

11 AUGUST ORDER Ordered the couple combo once again. The sweet and sour sauce definitely had no sweet in it, terribly sour and runny. Not at all good with the chicken. Spring rolls were so small and had no colour, seems like a totally different pastry, not very tasty. I'm not sure what is happening, but quality of food is not the same....

Disappointing First and Last Visit

This was my first time visiting Jacky’s, and unfortunately, it will be my last. When I asked the waiter about any specials, he told me there weren’t any—only to realize later that there were specials available, just not after 4 PM but it was definitely before 4PM.

The food was the most disappointing part. It was honestly the worst Chinese takeout I’ve had. The sushi rice was sour and lacked any flavor, and the chow mein was bland and inconsistent. One portion had more noodles with hardly any chicken or vegetables, while the other had more chicken but very little noodles. The lack of consistency in both ingredients and portion size was really frustrating. Overall, a very underwhelming experience.
