A sheltered garden with reed sides. Perfect for the wildest coastal winds. A fountain and well laid out garden with benches and tables. Various rooms in the restaurant, a bar area plus a shop filled with locally made artisanal edibles, honey, coffees and an assortment of carry sized gifts to take back or squirrel for personal indulgences. A rack of leaflets for nearby activities, tours, trails, reserves from the reserved to action adventures. A pleasant surprise as it's tucked in close to a petrol station. On the doorstep of the Addo elephant reserve. Loads of parking for plenty of huge 4x4 vehicles. Cleverly laid out to accommodate several groups.
Really wonderful local coffee and happy tummy good for an overcast day.
Management and staff are excited about their venture. They also arrange outings of almost any description. The bathrooms are creatively filled with brochures of activities and fun happy posters. Cosy corners inside, both large tables for groups and intimate little tables for emergency coffee refreshments during your long trip. A memorable experience and memorable...

My sister and I visited “A Taste of Africa” on March 27, 2025, for breakfast. We ordered two cappuccinos and two plain croissants. When we realized we were running out of time, we asked the waitress to pack the croissants and refill the coffees into to-go cups. She seemed annoyed, so we ended up doing it ourselves.
When I went to pay, the bill came to 355 Rand (about 17 euros). I paid without thinking, but once we got into the car, I realized the price was outrageously high. I went back to complain, and the waitress pointed to the “croissant with salmon and avocado” on the menu as the reason for the cost – even though we had only ordered plain croissants.
She refunded me 95 Rand without much discussion, so in the end I paid 260 Rand (about 12.41 euros) – still completely unreasonable for two cappuccinos and two plain croissants.
This café is clearly overcharging customers. Total scam. I will never go back and strongly advise others...
Read moreCame here on a cold rainy night with a friend. We didn’t know what to expect since the restaurant is located next to a petrol station-but the food blew our expectations. We got the Greek salad and a steak fillet with garlic sauce. Both were wonderful!
The salad was fresh and loaded with tomatoes, red onion, green bell peppers, cucumbers, olives and crumbled feta cheese.
The steak was cooked to perfection!
Our server Luzuko was super nice and gave us great service.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you’re on your way to or from Addo Elephant National Park 🐘❤️❤️
