We visited pinecreek on wednesday and it was so nice. We then decided to book for the christmas day buffet seeing as they were so nice. When we arrived the "owner" did not even acknoladge the fact that we made a resevation he just sent us to any available table (not nearly the table we reserved) they then proceeded to take our order, I was confused when the waiter brought out menus for us seeing as we made a resevation for the buffet. I told het aboyt the table we booked she then tried to get the "owner" to find our booking wich he once again tried not to do. She moved us to a table at the back we sat down for maybe 20 min when she came back saying the "manager" said we had to move because that table was for somsone else. Keep in mind our resevation was for 3 o clock we are now by almost 4 and we have moved 3 times. When we finally sat down at the 3rd table they once again came and said we had to move because that table was also for someone else but we were just told this was im fact the table we reserved. So we decided to leave because this was so unprofessional and we cant get uo to gey our food because we had to keep moving between tables. When we got up to leave all of a sudde the "owner and manager" were present trykng to apologise but when we asked to see one of them they ognored us and kept sending the very stressed waiter to us to try and sort out their mistake. She handled the situation better than her "superiors"!! When we asked for the bill they had the audasity to try and charge us for the buffet wich we did not eat when we refused the manager tried to talk us into staying but the service was unacceptable and by that time we had had enough of it so we left. They did not try to resolve the situation no discount was given and also no apology. I dont know who runs a business like that but they will never see us again and i will make sure that everyone I speak to will know how completely unproffesional...

I'm visiting from Mpumalanga. We had breakfast at Pine Creek. Fabulous food and Nono was a gracious and friendly waitress. Wonderful experience at the restaurant. However all good things have to come to an end abruptly 😩 we went into the little shop that sells the Farmstall goodies. I was looking at the essential oils, as I have a spa in Mpumalanga. The rose oil lid was open. I then smelled the oil and the cashier immediately reprimanded me for opening the oil. I told her it was already open and she snatched it out of my hand. I buy lots of oils and would never have opened a sealed product. Then I was approached by the other shop assistant who instructed me with a tone of contempt to pull my mask over my nose. My mask was just under my nose. I pulled it up rather with a battle as my hands were full, but her tone of voice was a sure sign of 'hier kom n ding' 2 elderly gents and ladies walked in and both ladies had their masks pulled below their noses and the one's mask was only covering her bottom lip and absolutely nothing was said to them whilst they were browsing and then they exited the store. Long story short, a verbal altercation erupted between my son and this shop assistant. My take on this is , had the shop assistants done proper housekeeping that open oil bottle would have been noticed prior to me coming into the store. Furthermore if you are so Covid-19 protocol conscious then apply it to to ALL your customers and tone down your acidic tone of voice. We are all under strain with the masks and Covid but being in control of a shop does not give you any form of superiority to treat your customers with...

It was a nice day out for the kids. It was fairly busy with almost all tables in the kiddies play area being occupied.

I'm not sure if my server was new but she was aloof about most of our engagements. We ordered fish fingers and crumbled chicken strips for the kids and burgers for the wife and I. Food took almost an hour. That seems to be about the usual waiting time. Next time we will order the moment we arrive.

The portions were fit for a king. They are beeeeg. Fresh products used, you can taste it. I did expect a bit more of a sting in the prego sauce, but the chicken was succulent on a bed of caramelized onions and pickled gherkins. Very tasty indeed.

There were many things the server could have done better, I do hope she does as she had a pleasant demeanour about herself.

Always bring the cutlery before the meal. Keep your guests informed on all delays. It reduces the frustrations of them having to keep calling you. Offer a top up or refill of drinks when the meals arrive. Even suggestions can help. Check up on your guests whilst dining. It's common courtesy. Also opportunity to increase revenue for your outlet.

Overall, we will be back. Because knowing the owners, they will use this...

Pinne Creek is like a farm stall but about 10 times bigger. We went for Pensioners lunch today and what a pleasure. We had a soup for starters. Then our main meal consisted of, vegies rice, a piece of fish with tartar sauce, baked potatoes, chicken and pork and beef, all for R50.00. Then puding was wow!! Icecream, brown pudding, and custard. There is a farmers stall where you get fresh bread, all sorts of fresh vegatables, beautiful strips of bacon, fresh farm butter and the list just goes on. There is a beautiful train ride for big and small. Please come and spend a day of fun for you and your wife, girlfriend, Oupa and Ouma. The staff is well trained and Rudie the manager is hands on all the time. O before i forget there is a cowboy sining al beautiful songs for young and old. Yes only at Gonubie in the eastern Cape 10 kilos from East London.

What happened to the Pinecreek I used to loved? I always host my group gathering there and introduce friends and family to farm fine dining. The scenery and meal was on spot then. Unfortunately yesterday experience erased as the good past experience have ever had. Christmas lunch was a disaster 😩, I was on the queue for starter for over 45minutes not because of a huge crowd but for lack of good planning. There was nothing special to call it Christmas lunch, you wait for cutlery, food ( I think food was prepared in small quantities such that it run out very quickly. Who serves chicken wing with tiny pieces of beef etc for what was served compared to price paid R450pp was a rip-off. My overall experience yesterday is a zero rating 🙃 and I felt sorry for the staffs that didn't give good service but had to give tip.
