I am writing to express my disappointment and concern regarding the Eddie Zondi tribute event held on 15 June 2025 at Disoufeng pub and restaurant. Despite purchasing tickets in advance, my experience was far from what was expected.
Upon arrival, it was immediately clear that the venue was overcrowded. There were no seats available, even for those who had paid for entry. This created a hazardous environment, and it’s deeply troubling to consider what could have happened had someone fallen in the congested space. What’s more alarming is that tickets were still being sold at the gate despite the venue already being full. This reflects a serious lapse in crowd control and prioritises profit over safety. Such an event needed to have medical assistance on site, but that was not the case.
I have been to Disoufeng several times without a sold event, and it was always a wonderful experience. I have always found it to be well-organised. However, this time, when tickets were sold, it was a stark contrast to what was supposed to be more organised. Staff were overwhelmed and unable to manage orders, and it was evident they were under immense pressure. It felt as though they were being exploited, with no adequate support or increase in staffing to meet the demands of the crowd.
Queues for food, drinks, and restrooms were excessively long, adding to the frustration. After spending R150 on a ticket, one expects a certain level of service and comfort. Sadly, this event failed to deliver on both fronts.
I urge you to take this feedback seriously and make the necessary improvements to ensure future events are safe, well-managed, and respectful to both attendees and staff. Honouring Eddie Zondi should be a celebration, not a chaotic and...
Read moreThis is regarding the salon in the premises... Geez Beauty bar. I have been doing lashes since 2016 to date in a different salon, they were fully booked for Dec and I decided to give Geez a chance. The moment the person who was doing my lashes started, I complained about the glue irritated my eyes but she said it will be fine when it dries up. Mid the application, the irritation got worse and I kept communicating with her but she assured me that it will dry up. When she finished, I couldn't open my eyes, there was something poking me and they were TEARY throughout... eventually after what felt like forever I at least could open my eyes just to walk to the car and the irritation started not even 2 minutes into the car. The salon was already closed by then so I couldn't walk back in. To cut the long story short, I ended up in hospital that same night, the Dr's couldn't remove the lashes because they said the person used way too much glue, I was admitted and had to see a specialist. I kept communication with the owner and she promised to meet me half way with the medical bills; 3 months later there is still no action nor any form of...
Read moreThe place is Excellent, my Kidz enjoyed but they can do better with the service of their waiters!
The waiters don't write you order when ordering - which resulted incomplete orders The waiters don't even come and checkup if all is well? The norm "is the food okay sir?" Although the food was great, it was cold! Clearly the waitress took her sweet time after the food was done. For the fact that the TIP is mandatory, the waiterress have to be ontop of their game. Instead of coming to check on you, they chit chat with friends/colleagues. I had to get my kidz to go call her for more than 3 times for her to service us. The beer was HOT I had to ask a maintenance guy to go look for her when I wanted to pay the bill. Overall I am not satisfied with the waiterress yesterday.
Tebogo and Team has done an excellent work with Disoufeng, a great place to be for both Kidz and Adults but the Waiterress are trying to bring down this Excellent brand.
Please upskill them with a customer service course. I rate waiteress 0 on...
