McDonald's Lyttelton — Restaurant in Gauteng

Terribly disappointed. I notice all the recent reviews are also all 1 stars.

Not from this area, and my wife was booked in to the hospital nearby. I stayed as long as I could while still having time to get dinner before they close at 20:00 on the 16th of May.

I arrived a few minutes before 20:00, but the lady behind the door wouldn't open, and shook her head that they are already closed. Had to arrange with the guesthouse to order me dinner or go to bed hungry.

Tried ordering again today, (maybe the staff working on the 16th previously worked at Home Affairs and forgot that they now have a new job), but no meals were available on Uber Eats. Everything is out of stock/sold out according to the app, and I could only order "burgers only".

All in all, either the management doesn't care, the franchise owner doesn't care, or the staff just has terrible work culture. Regardless, with attitude and service like this the writing is on the wall, and I don't expect them to remain open for much longer unless some serious changes are made.

On google you advertise to be open till 11pm, but close at 9pm on a friday evening. Show away 6 kids at 21:17, participating in an athletic event nearby, because you close at 9pm. But you let in another person in to buy icecream. When i confront you, your lame excuse is" he is an Uber". So what! They were kids, probably very hungry kids. This is wrong to have double standards like that.

How can this Mc Donalds go any lower. Really you are a disgrace to the whole franchise. First: The time you provide on Goggle is wrong, Correct it. You do not open at 0600 as specified. I was there at 0640, only to be looked at, and ignored. Popped in at 0651, have to walk into the kitchen before someone even looks at you. And please send the staff on a course to assist them on how to deal with customers. I spoke to the manager, like I told her, this shop is a joke. I know you rely on the franchise to keep the shop open, BUT, I recommend that future customers pass LYTTELTON Mc Donalds and rather go to JEAN Ave or Waterkloof...

While we were inside McDonald's sitting at the table enjoying ourselves a begger walked in through the front entrance, pass all the furniture, all the way to the back (near the playpin area) to beg us for stuff. I was astonished at the audacity and the poor security of this McDonald's. It took us a whole minute to get rid of him. It's one thing if this happens outside, but another if it happens inside and not a single security guard were on site, nor did any staff member bat an eye lid. He could have even snatched valuables or even a kid (if the playpin was open). What an unloveable experience. First, I found the whole new "touch screen ordering system" very unpersonal, then we get harassed inside the building by a stranger. I have never! And I will...
