I was really excited to visit Nice after hearing good things from friends. It’s in an accessible location close to where I live and my hubby and I are obsessed with breakfast! It’s nicely decorated and the music was good. I was delighted to see that they serve a tofu scramble for breakfast too. Sadly my breakfast arrived and I noticed mould on my rye bread after a few bites. The rye bread costs an extra fourteen rand and looked like normal brown bread. My hubby’s eggs were cold and his order was incorrect. Our waitress said she would call the manager and we sat and waited for fifteen minutes before asking for the bill to leave. He then arrived and made some feeble apology and didn’t charge us (not that we ate the food anyway). my wife has always raved about Nice on Poplar so we went for supper just before Xmas. I had one of the best beef prego's ever but my wifes pasta was cold and had to be re heated. we went again last night and were served a bottle of really warm Rose. It was taken back but the replacement was only marginally cooler. My wife had the pot pie and salad which was delicious ( she said) but my Prego was nowhere near as nice as the previous one. tiny piece of ( very tender) steak and hardly any sauce whereas the first time it was swimming in delicious sauce.
