We had a birthday dinner last night for my friends 40th birthday..everything was okay from the get go...we did mentioned it was her birthday...ordered good bottles of wine..and then food. My partner ordered 300kg ribeye steak....with baked potato. I ordered the chicken schnitzel..with lemon and butter sauce...the steak was fine..the baked potato was steamed potato....wrapped in foil...my chicken schnitzel was so disappointing...I actually thought it was I&J frozen fish. It was actually just frozen prepared chicken breast....and also the steamed potato. I am not a spur fan..but choose spur anyday over this overpriced tasteless food. Oooh and to top it off...they brought her a plate with happy birthday on it..and a lemon with a sparkle..actually felt so embarrassed for this grown up women..the bill was R2500 and they couldn't even give her a proper dessert. We are use to hussar grill..they always give some sort of dessert. Even a botter of wine for my birthday last year...great customer service. You pay above average cost for the food...but they don't deliver the above average...

I’ve been looking for decent restaurants around Pretoria and JHB with really good food and not just the “instagram aesthetics”. I randomly Googled best steak to find a place to celebrate my husband’s birthday and this popped up. We unfortunately couldn’t go on his birthday but went a different day. The T-bone steak really was one of the best steaks we’ve had recently. My husband ordered it medium, which we hardly do but it was the best decision, so succulent! Also ordered mushroom sauce on the side and it went so well with the steak. The ingredients tasted fresh.

I had the pork ribs and they also didn’t disappoint, they fell off the bone. They weren’t out of this world like the steak but still a great choice, just wished I had ordered the steak after I tasted it😁.

The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the halva ice cream but overall a great dining experience.

The owners/managers were welcoming and the waiter was also friendly. Family friendly as we went with our 11 month old. Loved it!...
