⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently visited Shed and Silo located at the serene Uncle Tim's Centre in Benoni and had an extraordinary dining experience that I simply must share. This quaint, rustically styled restaurant offers a unique ambiance that blends a charmingly rustic decor with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. It's the perfect backdrop for a leisurely breakfast or brunch with friends and family. Our culinary journey at Shed and Silo started with their delectable Eggs Benedict. The eggs were poached to perfection, and the hollandaise sauce was rich, creamy, and impeccably balanced, draping over a bed of fresh spinach and sautéed mushrooms. Each bite was a delightful fusion of flavors that melted deliciously in the mouth. Next, we savored the pancakes, which were a sheer delight. These were not just any pancakes; they were light, airy, and utterly fluffy, paired with bananas that had been caramelized to a perfect golden-brown. The bananas added a delightful sweetness, enhanced by a lavish dusting of powdered sugar, making each mouthful heavenly. The French toast was another masterpiece. It was thick and sumptuous, soaked generously in syrup and adorned with slivered almonds and a hint of citrus to cut through the sweetness. This dish was a beautiful symphony of textures and tastes, combining to offer a truly gourmet experience. Lastly, the Croque Madame was a testament to the chef's attention to detail. It featured a hearty slice of bread topped with smoked ham and smothered in melted cheese, crowned with a fried egg cooked just right. The egg's yolk oozed over the layers upon cutting, creating a rich and savory treat that was comforting and profoundly satisfying. The service at Shed and Silo mirrored the quality of the food—attentive, friendly, and genuinely caring. The staff made sure we felt welcome and attended to throughout our visit, adding to the overall excellence of the morning. In conclusion, if you find yourself in Benoni, a visit to Shed and Silo is a must. It's more than just a meal; it's a delightful escape into a world of culinary craftsmanship set against the backdrop of a beautifully styled country setting. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this charming eatery promises a memorable dining experience that is bound to leave you planning your next visit. A true gem in Benoni's dining scene!

Another spot I finally got to tick off my "To Eat" list. Luckily they managed to accommodate us without a booking BUT I would recommend booking in advance at Shed & Silo. It's well worth it. The menu is limited but what we had was amazing. For summer it's definitely a place to see, as there is inside and outside seating and it's situated in a lovely open space with the cute little shops on the side. We ordered the •Cider Pork Belly with Warm Potato Salad, Pickled Cabbage and Apple Chutney - Amazing, i would have like the crackling a bit more crackled, but that's just me 🤣 •Chicken Prego Roll with Paprika butter, Rocket, Creamy Prego sauce and Wedges. Delicious, tasty and not too spicy. • The Organic House Salad, with mustard dressing added with Chicken Portion sizes are decent, the food is fresh and beautifully presented 👍🏼 While venturing around, I noticed the Strawberry Margarita Cake, and being the Tequila fan my mind immediately went to the cocktail. So I asked the nearest waiter what is in the cake. She politely replied its a Cake with Tequila in it but the baker didn't put alot of Tequila in. My disappointment right there 🤣🤣, but I had to try it so I found our waiter Michael and asked him for a slice. I was then later advised that the Bakery is on-site that supplies them with some of their Cakes. This being one of them so we took a walk there afterwards and I complimented the baker. Will post about them separately 😁🍰 but what an amazing slice of cake. Would highly recommend you give it a try, it won't make you drunk but it will keep your taste buds satisfied 😋 Thanks to Michael, Sylvia and the team for a superb lunch experience. I will be back for that Lemon Meringue next. #TheFoodMusketeer #TheFoodMusketeerEats #TheFoodMusketeerDrinks #TFMShednSilo #ProudlyEastRand #SupportLocal

*The ambience and relaxing views are the biggest "pull factors" here, you will see from the pics. *Food arrived quickly at our table, which consisted of more than 10 pax; waitress though young was efficient and polite. *Coffee was decent i.e., industry standard. *Salmon Bagel with Avo seemed to be the 'dish of the day'. *Burger very tastey, nice meaty pattey, the tomato relish is a winner! On the /down side/, the potato wedges didn't do the dish justice; and quite a small portion. Makes one feel like a side of normal chips thereafter(if one could). AND the buns were really stale, on all 7 burgers! *Prego Roll seemed like a fair portion, fresh and tastey but lacked the "prego flava" that one would expect. *Charcoal Activated Blueberry Cake: it was said on previous review/s that it was fantastic or 'the best cake ever', personally I would not agree; nice to try as a once off. Rather go for the Chocolate Brownie with Mascarpone Ice Cream! I'd even rate the Raspberry Cake over the Charcoal. Overall a pleasant experience.

Extremely disappointed with my experience. This restaurant is constantly hyped on social media and highly recommended by many, so I was really looking forward to trying it. Unfortunately, I never even got the chance.

I called multiple times to make a booking, and the lady who answered would always insist that I email instead of simply answering basic questions over the phone. I did send the email — and even received an automated acknowledgment — yet no one responded. I followed up with a call and was told again that they'd get back to me. Days later, someone finally WhatsApped me, claimed they never received my email, and after I sent proof that I did, they went completely silent.

I can’t help but feel that the lack of service and eventual ghosting may have been racially motivated. The initial calls were answered in Afrikaans, and after it was clear that I was not one of them, the energy shifted.

It’s disheartening to feel deliberately overlooked when all I wanted was to support a local business. No one should have to chase down a response just to spend their money — the disregard was...
