We booked late,but did get a cancelation spot. We were so glad as we love their applecrumble pies,really the best apple crumble pies. We were so disappointed with motherdays' lunch. We arrived promptly at 12 ,got a spot on a high table and on the stoep. After 30 minutes we finally get a waiter to ask if we want something to drink,yes!!!. After another 15 minutes do we want the " voorgereg",butternut or vegetable soup? We ordered the butternut soup. Only got that after another 15 minutes,and it was cold,got the bread and butter with it but no plates or knife to spread the butter. I know there were a lot of customers but only 2 waiters that served the main crowd and we were sitting on stoep with no cutlery at all. What a big disappointment. When we complained they were kind of upset that we complaint as they have only 2 waiters and all these people. Wow!! We should just shut up and wait our turn. Most disappointing after our last visit. Arrive at 13.10 was only served an hour later with starters....ordered drinks and was served whisky with soda pour out of a bottle from the bar. This was a total disappointment we ordered our starter plus main meal at the same time. Starters of grilled calamari was 8 pieces of ×- 6/7 cm long by 1cm thick with a slice of lemon and tarter sauce for R60.00 as per bill not value for money, total disgrace. My friend and I visited this place today. He had the surf and turf and I had the steak roll. I am going to start with the good parts. The service was really good. Our waiter was very friendly and the coffee was tasty. But the food quality isn't great. The chips was good but the steak was not. The texture was very clearly not fresh, but frozen and it was tasteless. The calamari was also tasteless. My steak roll was so drenched in sauce, it was basically swimming in it and it was spicy sauce. It did not say spicy on the menu. There was also very little onions on the bun. I would say it's mostly a place to drink something, but I won't bother eating...
