Blueberry Farm Cafè — Restaurant in Greater Tzaneen Local Municipality

This gorgeous little spot was such an incredible delight. We first stopped for a takeaway cappuccino and were pleasantly surprised by the warm interior and pretty aesthetic. Later in the day we were starving and looking to grab a very late lunch. We returned to Blueberry Farm Cafe at around 15:30 (they close at 16:00). The staff were extremely friendly and said the kitchen was still open and they could feed us.

We enjoyed a drink by the fire while our food was prepared. We had a fantastic meal that played with interesting flavours and, despite them being extremely close to closing, when we asked to try the Blueberry Pie for dessert the staff obliged and said it was no issue at all. The pie was absolutely fantastic.

Visited the farm and restaurant, where the blueberry picking experience was extremely fun and adventurous.

Unfortunately, the restaurant did not share the same qualities as the picking. Although the blueberry pie was absolutely delicious and well-portioned, the service was awful. After being seated, one of the two (?) waiters approached the table and asked what we’d like - we didn’t have any menus?

After finally ordering drinks (+- 20 mins), having gone to the bar to ask where the waiter was, we had to wait another 10 mins for drinks, and another 10 mins just to place food orders.

Really disappointed that the customer service was lacking, as it took away from the gorgeous scenery...

I can only comment on the frozen Blueberry pie. We went there for cappuccino's and Blueberry pie. But, no pie on the menu :( The waiter did inform us we can purchase a frozen full blueberry pie at the small store. At chalet we baked it in oven from frozen as recommended. Looked amazing. Cut it but it was all liquidy under the crust. Meaning, fresh berries and runny watery underneath. The taste was great but would've like a filling that had more consistancy. (like a reduction or pie filling consistency) Dining there I can not comment since we did not sit down. This review only on the pie :) would be fantastic if they had good pie as dessert on sit...
