EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!! We had heard very favourable comments about the restaurant and decent restaurants are few and far between in the area. The booking system worked really well allowing you to book a specific area (Inside, Patio or Deck). We arrived and were immediately seated and given menus and a wine list. That was the last we saw of our waiter. After 20 minutes of patiently waiting no one had come to take a drinks order I went looking for the person who seated us and could not find her. Eventually I asked another waitress if she could find our waitress. Shortly after that a waiter arrived and took a drinks order (a glass of dry red & a glass of dry white) asked if we could order food at the same time, which the waiter confirmed that we could. The waiter arrived with a glass of dry red and a glass of sweet rosé. In his defence my wife said that she did not think I was perfectly clear when I ordered (so will overlook that) and would drink the sweet rosé. The waiter did come about 5 minutes later to check if everything was ok. And then we did not see him again. We finished our dinks and another 30 minutes went by with no sign of our waiter. In desperation I went to the bar and order the drinks there and took them back to the table. The waiter then came to ask if everything was ok I explained that we had now been here over an hour and asked him to follow up on the food – I was immediately informed that “it was coming” (so am guessing that this is a perfectly normal time frame at Trattoria La Terrazza). An hour and a half after ordering which was 20 minutes after we arrived (so nearly 2 hours after arriving) we got our food. I had the Carbonara which was a bit cold but perfectly edible. My wife had Grilled Calamari tubes which she was happy with but she did not think it was worth what they charged. I appreciate that we went in season and they appeared to be fully booked, but if the restaurant cannot cope with so many tables do not have so many. I will definitely not return. Read moreIf you enjoy eating plastic, this is the place for you. Last night my family and I had the worst dining experience for a number of reasons. Firstly, we waited a while for the waitress to take our orders. When asked if she could serve us, she said, ‘wait 5 minutes the kitchen is too busy’. Secondly, the food took eons to arrive. Over an hour and a half. We asked to see the manager. The most unprofessional and incompetent female manager possibly in the entire industry. Told us, point blank, it was our own fault because we didn’t order our mains as soon as we got there. Even worse, she further brushed off her responsibility when she told us to please discipline her own staff as she ‘can’t talk to them’- which is unacceptable. Note here that the food hadn’t arrived yet. It was a disaster when it did. My brother pleaded & begged for the kitchen not to put any sauce on his fish because he cannot eat it. The fish arrived drenched in sauce. Here’s the cherry on top of the cake- one of the meals (calamari) contained several pieces of PLASTIC in it! Several sizable pieces, one of which was accidentally swallowed. The manager’s response, ‘I wonder how that got in there?’. The bill came to over a grand (including the plastic calamari). Read moreLet's start with the positive, the main meal was delicious. Other than that, a lot of room for improvement. No non alcoholic cocktails available, then I ordered non alcoholic Savanna. The waiter left without opening it (waiters should know which drinks are twist cap and not) and while waiting for him to eventually check up on us, I saw the drink already expired in August 2022. I told him, he didn't apologize. How is it that in 5+ months nobody verified if the restaurant's stock is still valid? I asked for a replacement or iced tea, he came back with neither. Shocking that all the Savanna expired and that iced tea, which is pretty common, isn't stocked. Also didn't stock Fanta. We waited for 2.5 hours for our main meal, which is absolutely unacceptable. Our booking was for 18:00, we left after 21:00, and we didn't even have dessert, since we didn't have the patience to wait once again. I know it was valentines day and extremely busy, but the restaurant takes bookings, therefore the amount of guests cannot be a surprise.
