As much as I love the selection and quality of the food, as well as the setting and atmosphere, I am regularly disappointed with the attention to service.
The length of time spent waiting in queues just to place an order or buy a beer is frustrating, off-putting and unacceptable.
When I finished my ride today I looked forward to a beer and some great food, but I gave up after standing in a queue at the outside counter that simply wasn't moving because there was one person handling the cash register, taking food orders AND pouring draft beer, which was incidentally also posing a challenge because the taps were clearly not set up correctly.
Looking around while we were waiting in the queue we could see another stationary queue at the entrance to the restaurant. But what was noticeably absent was any clear sign of management making any attempt to resolve obvious bottlenecks.
I ended up pouring my first beer at home in PE by the time my friends finally managed to get theirs.
Although there was a fair number of customers, it was hardly crowded, and by now one would think that management would now what to expect, especially taking into account how popular the venue is and how good the weather was.

   Read moreIt was a very busy day. Beautiful open air market outside with loads of stalls and people. I get the 'busy' but that is no excuse for poor service. We waited long for service and when our food arrived (mine was excellent) the rest of the patrons at my table had issues. Food was cold, ice cold in the case of a mushroom sauce and we had NO cutlery. We had yo ask for it and then waited quite a while for it. I also noticed there were a lot of Trainees serving people. On a day like this I feel they should've shadowed instead. As far as the taste of the food, I have absolutely no complaints at all. So so very tasty and fresh. Cudos for that. It's like a big farm village and I love it! It's a modernized country vibe.. love it.
They are turning this place into an 'off-the-grid' estate which I think is super cool. They have a model of the whole 'estate' in the middel of the office next to the dining area and is free to view by the guests. My favorite feature is the airfield/airstrip, can't wait to be one of the 1st pilots to land there!
Everything deserved a 6-Star rating! Food was delicious. Staff was sooo friendly, yet very experienced and professional. Atmosphere was so calm and relaxing. Very tranquil.
