Sanchez Spur — Restaurant in KwaDukuza Local Municipality

We went there on Sunday evening to give our daughter the Spur experience on her 6th birthday. We arrived at 19.30h and the place was almost dead. Fair enough, but the whole experience turned into a disaster. We weren't greeted at the door and when asking for a table for four, the youngster who then turned out to also be our waiter just looked at us. Clearly it was inconvenient to have guests arriving for dinner when it's a slow Sunday evening. We sat down and ordered. The same waiter clearly didn't know the menu and had to look items up before taking down our order. When I told him it was my daughter's birthday, he just stared at me and shrugged his shoulders. He eventually brought starters. And my main course. At the same time. When I sent the mains back, he went to his manager and explained. My wife's main arrived cold. Mine, the same plate he tried to serve with the starter arrived lukewarm. Staff were clearly in end of shift mood, because four adult diners were turned away from the door at 8pm. Needless to say, he forgot about my daughter's birthday. No balloon, no singing and staff clapping, no ice cream... NOT the Spur experience we hoped to give our little one. Not once did the duty manager come to our table and enquire about how we liked the food. Eventually, we just got gatvol with the whole thing and left. By far the worst Spur I have...

I am incredibly disappointed with the service I received at Spur on father's day. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by the behavior of the lady who assisted us, named Mpume. Absolutely unethical behavior by her. Not only was she unprofessional, but she also displayed a shocking level of arrogance when we attempted to query our order. Instead of offering assistance or addressing our concerns, she simply nodded her head dismissively and back-talked us. She then proceeded to claim that we somehow called the manager "dumb" which was not said by any of us. God knows how she came to this conclusion. Absolutely terrible service by her. This kind of attitude is completely unacceptable and certainly doesn't reflect the standard of service expected at Spur. We came in hoping for a pleasant dining experience, but instead, we were met with disrespect. Please sort this out ASAP!!!! This is very dissapointing. Those that are contemplating on coming into this restaurant, please rethink your decision because the waiters are terrible at offering good service. THESE WAITERS SHOULD NOT BE WORKING AT ANY RESTAURANT AS THEY DISPLAY UNIMAGINABLE ATTITUDE. VERY VERY DISSAPOINTING SERVICE! This was suppose to be a good gesture to my dad, but then you get these waiters "MPUME" that spoils the whole experience....

Horrific experience with your waitress mphume. Argued with me. Asked for Sweetners and she forgot about me. Absolutely arrogant and feels entitled. She shouldn't be servicing your customers. Took the incorrect order. So sad. We are patrons and we won't return to this spur. Remove her. She doesn't deserve to be working here. Look at your reviews on Google.. Many are referring to poor service and the probability is her. She's the common denominator. She doesn't know how to empathize or apologise.. It doesn't exist in her vocabulary.
