Well, I don't really know who is in charge. The restaurant or the resort. But totally against the rules, this family of 5 decided to not only bring in all their own food and drink, some of it still in a stainless steel pot nogal, park in the prime spot at the family pool, but even have the odacity to light up and smoke! We were around the pool for about 6 hours, and I can honestly say I did not see one single manager, or person of authority there today, to lay down the rules. Not only losing money for the resort and restaurant, but smoking at the family pool???

Stayed in the resort for the weekend and decided to grab the Mrs Piggy pizza for lunch with some mocktails. The regular that arrived was rather small for the price we paid. The pork belly was extremely dry and hard to chew. It had the consistency of cardboard when bitten into. The pizza itself, while alright, was definitely not worth the money spent. The best thing of the whole meal was the hot sauce in the Richelieu bottle we used to spice up the pizza. The mocktails were nice but nothing exceptional. They tasted like premixed on I've bought before.

For a resort restaurant, pleasantly wide menu variety, great open air atmosphere, good hours of service and staff attention. Food quality was top notch and I guess the oversised helpings are really provided for the average visitor. My spud with bacon and smothered in cheese was done to perfection. An unusual starter I was able to taste was crumbed asparagus! Most unusual and delicious. I guess my only criticism is that pricing for food is inconsistent. Some meals are truly expensive! If you are visiting Magalies Park, worth the visit.

11:30 on Sunday 12 Oct.25, served by Justin. We sat at the area overlooking the Padel courts. There were about 4 other tables. Justin was not friendly, even after politely asking “give us a smile” the brief smile on his face was replaced with the cold, unfriendly expression. We ordered 3x chicken livers, 1x prego, 1x griller breakfast and coffee. The coffee was served in good time. We did not receive ANY follow-up from Justin or the manager on duty for the next 45 when our food arrived in drips and drabs - you know the situation where guests with no food urges the others “please start eating your food will be cold, i am sure ours will come soon”. When all the food was there, Justin was there asking if all is ok. (By that time I was about halfway with my food). I pointed to him that the toast from my order was still missing. His response was emotionless, unapologetic that he will bring it. He asked to be reminded if the order was white or brown toast. He brought the toast in good time, but still no apology for the oversight. Bacon - the bacon served was unfamiliar cut - not back, streaky, shoulder bacon. It had long strands of meat (the cut was with the grain) and was so tough that it could not be cut with the knife provided. The restaurant experience was unpleasant, in stark contrast to the rest of the resort that was at a very...

We had Patrick serve us over two days and he was fantastic. The food was exquisite, the wine was good and the cocktails were made to perfection. My mom is highly allergic to gluten, although we are 100% prepared for any disaster, Patrick and the head chef made sure we were accommodated and taken care of the moment we walked in. Their Portuguese flatty was seasoned just right. The drunken cherries, absolutely wonderful! My mom had a Greek salad with the fish of the day - cooked beautifully and done to her dietary needs. I would recommend this resort and restaurant to anyone who requires 5 star dining and who needs a vacation. The views, service and staff are nothing short of spectacular. We can't...

Unfortunately this is the second year we have come here and decided not to self cater and use this restaurant. We have tried a lot on the menu, such as Pork Belly (dry), king prawns, Trinchado, Eggs Bendict, Pizza, Lasagne, Chicken Schnitzel etc. Even the sauces for dishes are bland. Everything tastes the same. For a Portuguese/Mozambique restaurant, their food lacks the spiciness you come to expect from these nations' foods. Everything seems generic, and I am rather going to drive the 10 kilometers to other restaurants in the future. I think they rely on the convenience of being in the park, but eventually, people will drive to...
