Terrible service. If you're not white, you might want to avoid this place.

It's obvious they give preferential treatment to white patrons. The staff were friendly and smiley with white customers, but with us (Asians), they were cold and unfriendly.

When we first walked in, the staff (female) looked us up and down. The way she spoke to us made us feel unwelcome. The tone was stern and commanding. We were dressed similarly to other patrons, so we're unsure why we received this treatment.

When we asked for the bill, the staff didn't even look at us and coldly said 'Yes' with a tone that made us feel unwanted.

Having lived in the Overstrand for a few years, I had heard about the Zesty Lemon from several friends who sang its praises. But I had never been, until recently, and I loved the breakfast experience so much I returned a week later to try out lunch. Loved the freshly squeezed juice mixes, and to be honest, it's hard to find fault with a meal when you are in a setting that is so appealing to all the senses. This place is heaven - so tranquil, quiet and well kept with a lush garden and a pond with dragonflies. It has been the first time since three years or so that I returned with the family to Zesty Lemon, and man am I glad I did. The menu is relatively small, but sophisticated. Had the jalapeño beef burger, and it was fantastic. The kids went with the starter camembert and a small portion of the chicken pasta from the adults section of the menu - and finished everything.
