Just had an unforgettable dining experience at Alergia Restaurant in Slippersbaai! This stunning beachfront restaurant exceeded our expectations in every way. The breathtaking views of the ocean were simply mesmerizing, and the warm hospitality made us feel like family.

We really wanted to love this place, but we ended up liking it a bit. The view is lovely but ruined by the horrid stink of rotten shells and seaweed a 10m away from the tables. The food came quickly but it was cold and very under seasoned and the seafood was over cooked. The chips were pale and tasteless. Please note: this is not Portuguese food! The steak was soaked in store bought barbecue sauce and the (4 overcooked) prawns on the seafood platter came with Tartar sauce! No peri peri melted butter, garlic or lemon butter - nothing! No complimentary bread and we had to leave the table to find a server to bring us sauce (only steak sauces available so we chose mushroom and cheese). By the time it arrived, we had already finished most of our food. Child friendly? Not really because of the stinking beach and lots of sharp rocks. Service was friendly. Rice was nice. That’s it. A lovely secluded place on the beach and out of the wind. Service was food. Food for me was however not to my expectations. The calamari I ordered had more batter than calamari and the salad was not as fresh. How ever I would love to return again and experience this restaurant. The Prawn Espetada I would highly recommend. This was 2019.

2020 December was the most horrible experience. No stock of any seafood. But the boards advertise it also the menu. I am aware of Covid restrictions and the impact on the restaurant business but at least the waitress could have informed us or at least a manager could have approached us and informed us of their limited menu.
