Seemingly a favourite amongst the locals, this place will do itself a favour by picking an area of speciality and perfecting it. The current menu reads like a Wilbur Smith novel with no real plot. It ranges from seafood to pizza to burgers and steaks. During our visit I can safely say that seafood is not their thing. I ordered the calamari starter and the mussel pot starter as my main: the calamari was palatable. The mussels lacked flavour (I added some of the garlic and chilli that came with the pizza which definitely helped) and the bread served with it seemed three days old. My daughter had the BBQ chicken pizza which she described as something resembling the frozen box pizzas we can just pop in the oven. The chicken appeared a bit lacklustre and coated in a strange pink substance and then covered with loads of cheese. My son had the 300g sirloin, pepper sauce and hot veg which was the only winner out of all the dishes we ordered. This is also the only reason why they received 3 stars for food. Service was hit and miss but mostly acceptable. A lovely establishment but definitely room for improvement.

This was in St Helena Bay on the West Coast. What a beautiful town. At JP's, the food was good. The waitress was amazing. It was cosy and had a pleasant vibe. It's a small restaurant. Reasonable pricing, and a nice variety of menu options. The coffee milkshake was one of the best we'd tasted. The reason for the 4* is because the pizza oven was smoking so much that our eyes were really burning, and it was difficult to breathe. It was okay after the oven stopped burning. Otherwise, lovely place. Oh and they have a separate bar area.

Don't judge the place by based on looks. Was a bit hesitant to enter but glad we did. The staff were very friendly and the service was quick. The wood fire oven pizzas were delicious (all loaded with cheese). I highly recommend the Bistro Classic pizza: Camembert with fig and bacon. The smoke from the pizza oven didn't bother that much. It is a kuier spot so it can get a bit noisy, but it was worth it.

I've been coming to JP's since March 2023. JP's is an awsome place. The food is really awesome, always super fresh, and simply delicious. As in top class 5 star standards. Only fresher. Lulu is the best chef in town. The service is so friendly and loving. The atmosphere is what everyone contributes towards. The West Coast is a different country indeed. JP's is an awsome intro to the West Coast, it has to be visited if you love good food, lots of fun and laughter and meeting strangers who are a mere hello or handshake away. And for me, the Takila is the best. This guy's ROCK. Please visit here. No, I'm not on the books! I just love good food, fun and...

Well to me knowing the owner JP and his wife Angie for a number of years and knowing what they went through to get JP' Grill & Bistro up and running and the swet they put in to get the place started and added to the quality of food they serve. I will definitely recommend anyone who visits or stays in St Helena Bay and the surrounding area. You must and cannot miss not making an effort to get to JP's for a definate quality meal and pleasant time. Great pub with a homely feel and good place to watch sport on a sizable big screen. My 5 stars are genuine for the quality...
