Soldato Café — Restaurant in Saldanha Bay Local Municipality

After the park run we always support this local restaurant. However, the service has been getting worse and worse. A large (9 of us) group of us ordered coffees and breakfast buns. We waited over 30 minutes for coffee. Some over 45 minutes. The order was placed before the mad rush. When we asked our waitress where our coffee was we were told it is on its way. As we noticed people who ordered after us got their coffees before us. A lady approached us saying don't worry, relax. I told her that was the wrong way to say it and she should apologize for the inconvenience and not approach a table with such an abrasive manner. She got very aggressive with her response and extremely argumentative. She returned after we received our coffee placing down the holder that holds the bill very firmly stating this is the money for the coffee and we don't have to return if we are so unhappy. Then they brought 1 breakfast short. They argued again that we didn't order another one. My husband was so upset he went to speak to the lady and she was so argumentative and placed blame on everyone else. Then she made a statement asking my husband does he want her to kiss his wife's feet? This is absolutely shocking response and she just continued to argue. The coffee barister also had a snotty response that my husband ended up walking away and returned to our table so upset. My husband stated he had never ever been treated this way in the over 40 years that he has lived in the West Coast. We all about supporting locals but extremely sad when the locals get treated in such a way. The waiters were more apologetic than this woman. I am assuming that she is the manager. Thank you to Hugo and his Team @ Soldato Café (Langebaan Country Estate Driving Range) for such an amazing birthday afternoon.The food was fresh and delicious, as well as great menu options. The cleanliness of the restaurant and amenities, toilets/outside areas are definitely up to standard 👌🏻(for me as a lady a clean toilet area is super important). The staff are well trained, efficient and friendly. So much effort on such short notice - Well Done !! Happy Customer 😊 I have always been a fan of the amazing coffee, and with the new added renovations, different tasteful spaces (with great ambiance) were created with so many different options: whether it be a private function/grab&go/catching-up with a friend, or just taking a break after having fun at the driving range. Management are always willing to listen to suggestions - or constructive criticism in order to maintain their current standards, and further improving to build on an even stronger...

We was recommended to go there but unfortunately SERVICE was terrible and I am not sure if it's the owner or the manager who had a problem with us, from the moment we entered the coffee shop.

I would NOT! recommend this place to anyone.

You obviously don't understand what doggie friendly means and would suggest you get educated on that.

This was not just about the dog's.

The way you spoke to us and the way you handled the situation was the problem and your attitude was the problem.

The service was also terrible!

Maybe you had a bad day who knows but maybe you are in the wrong type of business or maybe put signs up and train...
