La Pineta — Restaurant in Stellenbosch Local Municipality

First of all, the food:

The Coffee Milkshake was served chilled and tasted amazing. It's in a milkshake-size cup, so don't order this if you plan to eat a lot. The milk takes up some space in your stomach. Otherwise, it was lovely and not too sweet. Tastes better than an Iced Coffee (for those who love milk).

Bacon Poppers are now one of my favourite starters after having them here. It's jalapenos stuffed with dates, cream cheese, wrapped in bacon, crumbed and deep fried with sweet chilli sauce on the side. The burst of flavour is exactly as you can imagine. Also, it's not as hot as you can expect because they remove the seeds - for those who are worried about heat. It's also filling because of the cheese, so have someone to share this with so you have space for the main.

The Pasta Bolognese tasted as if it was made especially for me. The mince was not chunky and tasted fresh and flavourful. The sauce was just enough, and the hand-made fettuccine tasted like it was made in-house. 10 out of 10. I'm so bummed I couldn't finish this. I had too much dairy food. And the portion of this pasta was bigger than I thought. Don't be fooled by the seemingly small size. The huge plate they serve the pasta on disguised that.

Secondly, the service:

Chris, our waiter, served us exceptionally well and was very patient with us. The kitchen staff is to be applauded for getting our food ready so quickly during the lunch time rush. We all got our food around about the same time, and we were 13 people! Tens across the board. Definitely make reservations if you are a large group.

The atmosphere:

The Stellenbosch wine farms add a great picturesque atmosphere while lunching here, and the helicopters and planes flying past us every 15 minutes added an imperfectly unique character, which I think is great

Small intimate wedding reception

On the 21st of October we held our wedding reception at La Pineta’s private dining room area. I would like to thank all the staff at La Pineta for a wonderful experience and memories that we have made that evening.

From my first email communication to the very end, I can say I have received prompt responses and their assistance with every aspect of my dining experience was dealt with upmost professionalism.

Sarah, Chantel, Marius and Mia and the rest of the La Pineta staff, thank you so much for all the assistance.

The La Pineta team went out of their way to ensure my reception was exactly as what I have envisioned. Table placings, décor on the tables etc. Additionally, they allowed me to bring through my flower decorations, wedding cake, MCC and additional wine a day earlier and kept it at their premises.

For the set menu design, I could discuss this in detail with Chantel and she guided me perfectly to design my own set menu. Making sure that we have covered all the different dietary requirements and varieties to choose from.

During the evening the waiters were extremely professional. Making sure that all the guests were looked after, and food were served as per requested time.

Compliments to the CHEF as well!!! All the guests were extremely impressed with the level of food quality that was served. I, myself missed out on the Lindt Chocolate Torte, but apparently that was the dessert to have 😊 I would need to come back and try it out myself!

I would highly recommend La Pineta, if you are looking for a small intimate wedding reception. They go above and beyond to make sure your special day is indeed special!
