Sansibar — Restaurant in Stellenbosch Local Municipality

Sorry to say, but very disappointed. We booked our anniversary dinner here based on the menu available on the website 2 weeks ago (01/12/2023). That menu had around 40 different options. We specifically booked at Sansibar because there were 12 vegetarian options on the menu.

When we arrived, we found that the whole restaurant had changed. There are now only 7 menu items, all tapas style, and only 1 vegetarian. Because of this, we decided to go elsewhere.

The atmosphere is described as "casual dining", but this is not the case any more. I'm sure the new restaurant is lovely, but it was not as advertised when we made...

Popped over on Friday for a quick bite and drink as we were in the area. Went without any reservation, which can only be done during off season. To avoid disappointment always book rather.

The gentleman serving us was professional, friendly and very welcoming. We didnt wait long for our food at all. And the portion of chips we ordered was huge with 3 sauces which was a pleasant surprise.

Just one thing though, the snack menu is limiting and I cant help but hope they increase this with nuts, biltong or similar.

All in all would definitely recommend, even in winter months there is a fireplace and the view...

Ignore previous reviews about the cost vs quality left my other people.

EVERY TIME I come to CPT I make a point of it to stop by Sansibar. Service is always phenomenal, food is always good. You can soak up the views whilst munching on some small plate food + drinks.

This is not the necessarily the place to come if you want a heavy meal (nor is any other wine farm for that matter of fact).

This is a great place for a brunch + drinks + catch up with friends and family.
