Doodles Beachfront — Restaurant in Table View

Overall had a nice time here, although the service was a little frustrating. Upon arriving the hostess was fantastic. She offered a nice table by the window and we got menus immediately. A waiter soon came and took our drinks order and came back soon after with our cocktails. He was great and very friendly. Then a different waiter came to take our food order and I ordered another cocktail with her and my friend ordered a glass of white wine with ice. He was friendly as well.

Then we waited what felt like an age. We eventually got the attention of our neighbouring table’s waitress and asked about our drinks order. She said she’d check on it. She brought the glass of wine a while later and said she’ll come back with the ice. She also informed me that they don’t make cocktails during happy hour (we weren’t aware of happy hour prior to this and I ordered it before it started) and basically said I can’t have my cocktail and ran away. 10 minutes later she brought the ice, and exasperately asked if there was anything else we needed with an annoyed tone, so we just asked for the cocktail we ordered before happy hour started and she ran away.

It was very busy so I can understand waiting a while for service and food etc, but when I ordered the cocktail I wasn’t informed about happy hour and was looking forward to my cocktail. We were debating what to do at this point when a manager happened to come check on our table. We explained the cocktail situation and he apologised and organised my cocktail order right away. He was very friendly and we apologised for the trouble but he understood and I got my cocktail. The waitress arrived soon after with our food (which was amazing!) and she apologised about the cocktail. We did wait a long time so we signalled a waiter from across the room for the bill. The waitress came with it and came back soon after with the card machine and apologised again. We still tipped 10%, and we said it was all fine because our overall experience was good. We think she must have been new but yeah that cocktail thing could have been handled way better.

I still recommend Doodles, I’ve been going here since I was a child, their food is great and I highly recommend their intergalacting gargle blaster cocktail even with any troubles that may come with it lol. I’ve also never gotten bad service here prior to...

If there was a zero rating i would definitely give them! I visited the restaurant on the 1st of January (New year's day) there was three of us we sat and ordered food and drinks, an hour and 30 minutes later we were joined by 3 of our friends who placed their orders as well we waited and waited nothing came expect for drinks two hours later we went to ask how long was the wait before we got our food? Turned out they forgot about our orders and they promised to make them asap instead they brought two meals that were ordered by our friends who came after us, there was 6 of us but two meals came we again reminded them but know one knew about our orders they again promised to prepare the food, now more than 3 hours later we still seated and we haven't received our meals we went to them and asked to pay for our drinks and told them we have waited more than enough, people that came after us had their meals and they were leaving at this time the restaurant is getting empty everyone was leaving as it was very late, they made another promise again they said our food was being prepared so we can pay for the drinks only and the food would be free! And if we order anything else we would have to pay for it so we decided to give them another chance but nothing came! We left the restaurant hungry it was after 11pm and there was no where we could go to buy something to eat we went...
