Quentin at Oakhurst — Restaurant in Western Cape

We really enjoyed our evening here and I would thoroughly recommend going here though there were a few minor aspects that could have been improved upon.

Please take the below with a pinch of salt, I spent a number of years in hospitality and Quentin's is definitely on the verge of excellence.

Starters The sauce of the mussel dish was very garlic heavy and didn't positively frame the dish Tuna carpaccio was underseasoned

Mains Wilted spinach beneath the springbok and duck was oversalted. The meat on both these dishes was perfect Fish was superb so no comments there

Desserts On the whole these were too sweet Panacotta Was good but lacked that silky texture and was again 'sweet centric' as opposed to 'flavour centric'

Service Great and very attentive service but would suggest taking it back by about 20%. Water and wine glasses only need to be topped up when guests are about halfway through the drink to ensure they remain chilled. Plates should only be cleared when all guests are finished unless pushed aside by a guest or if they leave the table

We ate here for the first time this Sunday and specifically chose it because we wanted to do a family Sunday buffet lunch.

Wow! The staff were so kind and attentive. The service was impeccable. Every time you stood up to dish food, you came back to a new napkin fold on the table! Plates were whisked away immediately when the knife and fork were positioned accordingly. Drinks were also well attended to.

The food was superb. I absolutely loved the huge selection of salads. If you're not keen on meat, you'll still have plenty to eat here! The dessert was just enough, and do yourself a favour and try the homemade ice cream. Persian carpet and honeycomb with saffron were my two favourites.

You will find so much to look at and talk about if you dine inside. It's like a museum!

Quentin at Oakhurst - Hout Bay

I was invited by friends for lunch at this establishment & I had no idea what to expect.

Well I was blown away by the friendly staff that greeted us on entering this venue, nothing was to much for them & all done with a smile.

The buffet was amasing, the cuisine was so tasty & prepared to perfection. I enjoyed every morsal on my plate, what a lovely gem in the heart of Hout Bay.

I must just make a mention of the amasing tasty Malva Pudding, it tasted just like my "Ouma's Malva Pudding" guys it was stunning the best I've ever had.

You will be seeing us again & to anybody in the Hout Bay area looking for that special venue with exquisite food & service, look no further this is what you were looking for.
