Stodels Cafe Bellville — Restaurant in Western Cape

About once a month, I take my mother to go have a hamburger at the small cafe inside Stodels Bellville. I always see the same staff working there. For three months in a row now, both my mom and I had a beef burger each. The roll is golden yellow, toasted on the inside with butter. I don't know where they find the pickles, but its the biggest pickle I've ever seen that adorns the most incredible juicy home made patty. The baby tomatoes are also slightly toasted in a pan, with crispy lettuce and the most amazing fries. I think the fries are triple fried, I'm guessing, I don't know, and I don't care, they're amazing. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The lady who makes these burgers, is the best ever. I know how difficult it is to cook a home made patty this thick evenly without burning it or leaving it cold and raw in the middle. The amount of love and attention that goes into every plate is incredible. I thank her every time I leave ( and I tip, don't worry :-)

Stodels, keep your cafe staff happy, they're the reason I'm there every month spending money on...

Service was shocking. I placed my order and waited for almost 40 min. When the waiter returned and informed me that they don't have avo. And asked if I want something different. I then cancelled my order because I am not prepared to wait another 40 min. She the returned with my child's food. And I left it so she can eat and then asked for the bill. Then their card machine did not work another 40 minutes for me trying and waiting. I then said let me please just go to the bank and withdraw the R75. The waiter then asked for my phone and I'd. I said I am not comfortable leaving my private belongings with them. Because this is not a fault from my site. The rude manageress then would not let me leave unless she had my personal belongings. She said this was not the first time this happened with them they had their card machines broke a week ago aswell. I can sit and drink coffee until their machines work again . Eventually I phoned someone who made the payment for me. How pathetic and...

Terrible service received this morning.

After being seated we were completely ignored. We had to repeatedly request service and eventually the manger came and took our drinks order, two appletizers and two slushies. These drinks took so long that the people opposite us, got there after us and all received their milkshakes before we received our drinks. We then order two kids waffles and two Eggs Benedict, a little while later one of the kids waffle arrived, we were told the rest was coming now 30 minutes later we still had not received the rest of out food. The same thing happend to the table next to us, only half the order was brought out. This was dispite the Manger constantly assuring us food was on its way. 45 min after only one child received their order, we told them to cancel our order, we paid for what we had and left. We will not go back...
