What a pain to get a reservation here. First I have to fill in all my details on their website , then I am directed to an app, after downloading and filling my details in the app, I am directed back to the website, where I have to once again complete my booking with my details, then the website dont want to take the booking. Eventually I phoned to make a booking.... all well up to here. But receiving then a call 18:00 on a Saturday evening enquiring why I have not paid yet for the next days booking , drove me over the edge. Asking why the person taking the reservation has not mentioned anything about upfront payment, I am told that he indeed has told me and that I even gave them 2 email adresses for the payment to be made, which absolute non-nonse. Then as a "courtesy" they will "let me pay by Sunday morning". REALLY, never encountered anything like this in my life. I can understand that they want to charge me if I make a booking and simply am a no show, but to assume and imply from the start I am a scoundrel and liar, and insult a customer like this , sets up a very negative atmosphere. Fine dining is a leisure and personal axperience, don't want to spoil it with such a negative and hostile atmosphere.

ps: This would have been my 4th Sunday lunch here, never been asked to pay upfront. Been recommending the restuarant and thir Souvignon blanc as simply the best in Durbanville region. You pssed off and lost a devoted client. In contrast, Got a call last week from Evert Opstal restaurant just enquiring if everything was okay since they have not seen us for a while, just , if something was perhaps wrong on our last visit, hence not being there for a while.. I explained that we were on holiday and overseas for most of this year nothing wrong, their food and service is always impeccable. What a pleasant contrast compared with my experience with D.dal tonight.. I was so touched by this , we went for lunch 2 days later, AND I DID NOT HAVE TO PAY UP FRONT. So my recommendation, go visit Ronel and Willie at Everts Opstal , it is located in the original farm house of Eversdal in Durbanville. Great atmosphere, food , wine and value, with a very personal tough. One is greeted like family and appreciated. They opened in 2021. With continued consistent quality food , service amd friendliness, they have build up a very loyal customer base, so my advise is to book a day or 2 in advance to prevent disappointment

Good buy Diemersdal , I will be spending my money somewhere...

Dining at The Farm Eatery @ Diemersdal was an experience beyond compare, making it a meal my partner and I regularly mention to others. Celebrating my birthday this past December, we had the set sharing menu, which was a perfectly crafted combination of flavours and textures.

One of the highlights of our afternoon was the accommodation of our dietary preferences; while I am vegetarian, my partner enjoys meat. This wasn't just an afterthought but was integrated seamlessly into the menu, ensuring both of us were treated to a great meal.

Each course was better than the previous. The starter bread, a sourdough fougasse with garlic aioli, alone is worthy of compliments; undoubtedly some of the best bread I've ever had in a restaurant setting. The beetroot salad while seemingly simple was so full of flavour. My favourite dish was the Risotto, while my partner loved the duck leg bao.

The choice of pavlova for dessert was a fantastic choice. Light, refreshing, and adorned with fresh berries and ice cream, it served as the perfect conclusion to the meal, striking a balance between sweetness and not overwhelming the palate.

As a vegetarian, I often find myself disappointed by the lack of substantial options in tapas and tasting menus. However, at The Farm Eatery, this was not the case. The vegetarian dishes were not only abundant but also bursting with freshness and flavour, leaving no room for hunger or disappointment.

The ambiance of the restaurant, with its cozy and quaint farm-style setting, only enhanced the overall experience. The staff, warm and welcoming, demonstrated a level of attentiveness that elevated our dining experience without ever feeling intrusive.

Pairing our meal with the farm's own Chardonnay was the perfect accompaniment. Although we are partial to a good Chardonnay.

The farm itself is picturesque, stunning in summer, and I can only imagine differently, but equally stunning in winter.

While dining at The Farm Eatery may come with a price tag, it is undoubtedly competitive with other establishments of its caliber, and every penny is justified by the exceptional quality of food, service, and ambiance. Booking is essential, so make sure to do so to avoid disappointment. Good amount of parking space is available on the farm.

Whether you're in Durbanville, or the broader Cape Town area, this gem of a farm is a must-visit for anyone in search of a true culinary treat. Can’t wait to come back and try some more wines next...

From the beautiful sprawling lawns situated next to the restaurant to the food and drinks, The Farm Eatery is delightful and this was a great place to enjoy the cool bright sunny day with friends both new and old.

Overall I would say the service was good. The restaurant and wine tasting areas run as seperate business operations, so we were billed separately. We were fortunate enough to be served from both. We were seated at a table large enough to accomodate about 10 of us under the shade of a large tree in the courtyard area.

With regard to the food I honestly have to say without a shadow of a doubt that the risotto was the best I've ever had. It was fresh due to the peas and greens, creamy from the goats cheese and crunch from the crispy deep fried kale. The ingredients complemented each other extremely well and the dish was extremely well balanced.

With regard to vegetarian options tapas were available as well. Though there were not many vegetarian options as a main meal.

I will say I would be back soon to try the tapas of even give my taste buds a treat by ordering the Green...

Our party consisted of 4 adults & 2 kids, and we really enjoyed our meal here. The little people opted for calamari & steak, both of which were well received. The adults chose the chef's collection tapas which were excellent overall! They consisted of 6 plates, feeding 2 each, for R900. The mussel veloute was sublime! Another favourite was the tuna served in a "cracker" with tigers tears sauce. The duck serves with cutrus, blackberries & nectarines was delicious! I found the octopus a bit tough and the risotto it was served on a bit underseasoned, so that was the most average plate for me. The venue hss great ambiemce & weather permitting is great for kids.
