I recently visited The Toad on the Road, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience from start to finish! One of the first things that stood out to me was how clean and well-kept the entire restaurant was. From the moment I walked in, I could see the attention to detail in maintaining a spotless and organized space. The floors, tables, and even the bar area were immaculate, which made for a comfortable and inviting atmosphere right away. Cleanliness is always a top priority for me when dining out, and The Toad on the Road definitely exceeded my expectations.

Now, on to the food—wow! The menu is packed with a variety of options that cater to all tastes, and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Whether you're craving a juicy burger, a hearty pub-style meal, or something lighter like a salad, they have it all. The portions were generous, and the flavors were spot on. I had their signature burger, and it was cooked to perfection—juicy, flavorful, and served with crispy, golden fries. You can tell they use fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the care put into preparing each dish really shines through. The selection of drinks was also great, with plenty of choices from local beers to creative cocktails.

But what really made the experience stand out was the exceptional service. The staff at The Toad on the Road was incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional. From the moment we were seated, we were greeted with warm smiles and prompt service. The waitstaff was knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations. They checked in with us regularly to ensure we had everything we needed, but without being intrusive. Despite being a busy night, the team managed everything efficiently, and our food arrived in a timely manner.

The overall atmosphere at The Toad on the Road was lively and welcoming. Whether you're there for a casual meal with friends, a family outing, or just stopping in for a drink, the environment feels cozy and relaxed. The combination of a clean, well-kept space, fantastic food, and friendly service made the experience truly enjoyable. It’s the kind of place where you feel at home the moment you walk in.

In short, I highly recommend The Toad on the Road for anyone looking for a great meal, excellent service, and a comfortable, clean environment. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this is definitely a spot worth checking out. I know I'll be back soon to enjoy more of their delicious offerings and...

Waited ages for our order to be taken, as well as for the food - but that wasn't even the issue. There were two unleashed dogs roaming around, this ended up not being the issue. Some fellow patrons started being very loud and rowdy, obviously drunk - and I witnessed the security (?) tell them they were being too loud. No difference to their behavior. One of them shoved past me when we paid, I turned to her and she started screaming and berating me in my face. I chose not to react as I did not know what she was capable of in her state. However, there were three staff members (including that security) right there, and no-one did anything about it. Very disappointing.

We have been regular patrons for years, even choosing to go there on our wedding anniversary last night, but this has left a bitter taste and a decision to no longer...

I generally enjoy dining and chilling at the Toad. Today (fathers day) of all days we had the worst experience. I still feel nauseous and sick. To start the table was dirty. We had to ask the waitress to wipe it. My garlic came in an over chipped container. I took a pic. The manager just said it's not acceptable but did nothing about it. The place wasn't busy yet the waitress could not remember to bring our ordered drink.... It never came!!!! My husband's beer glass was dirty and his eisbein was horrible and it had an after taste and all the waitress and manager was interested in getting paid for it. He came to our table saw it was hardly touched but still chose to bill the full amount. We took it home to treat our German Shephard. We will definitely not be returning soon. What a bad taste left in our...

It was loadshedding when we arrived and we were approximately 30 minutes late for our booking but the staff were accommodating regardless. Not only are these dishes inexpensive but quantity wise it's real value for money(Ribs tasted great the next day even) My only real critique would be the fact that the waiter wasnt as hands on as I would've liked given the fact that the restaurant was not at full capacity,However the manager attempted to make up for that which counted alot. Also the bathroom itself could do with more frequent hygiene checks I wasnt pleased with it as it doesnt match the ambiance the rest of the place sets (unpleasant scents and its closely located to seating perhaps an automated air freshener of some kind could be installed, General cleanliness could slightly improve as well)

There is only ONE pub restaurant on ALL Planet Earth that I could say is worthy of frequenting over and over again and it's The Toad On The Road. Why? Because the atmosphere is just right - you choose whether you prefer to be seated where the action is, among the live sport on the TVs and the enthusiastic fans or at a quiet table. The interior is neat and spacious, outside is cozy. Thre drinks flow here, the staff are terrific (on my every visit), but it's the food quality that does not disappoint! Perfectly char-grilled steak, ribs, fresh beer-battered fish, sizzling pizza from the oven... the choices are all good, the portions are fulfilling and the taste is exquisite. I would fly around the entire globe to land at this neighbourhood pub/restaurant!

My wife and I decided to pop in at toad on the 5th April. I ordered for my wife a margarita which got served in a beer glass. When I enquired with the waiter I was told cocktail ain’t there thing. I gave it back and said please dump The cocktail. I ordered beef trinchado which was so watery you could taste only water besides the beef. I am very disappointed in the toad I’m not a regular but when I used to pop in the food was tops. This time u let me down. Swak guys.
