The owner Mike is a really friendly and laid back guy! He brought a liveliness to the bar with his wise cracks and hijinks. I liked their draft beer with the chilled glasses. It went very well with my vegan pizza. There are several veg pizzas they offer and I chose the one with the homemade vegan pesto. It was super tasty and Zi especially loved their crust which featured an addictive savory crisp I found lacking in other chain pizzerias. This is an absolutely fabulous gem hidden away in a basement in a loud alley. It's a no-frills kind of place, because they focus on the live music. I had a great time with Russell and Michael on a Wednesday night, shame that the bar was only half-full. The music is absolutely top-notch. I was surprised they had Somersby Cider, I think we finished off their stock of green apple ones! Thanks to Russell for the free shots, great conversation and even better music.
