I'll start this out by saying the coffee itself was good, but the experience completely detracted from that. I drove 40 minutes to come to the coffee museum, and they were not at all foreigner friendly. We paid 12,000 each for our ticket to do the tour, and we stood to the side so my boyfriend could translate what the tour guide was saying to me. The tour guide got very upset with him and told him to stop speaking, even though he explained he was simply translating his words to me so I could understand. We were not bring loud or disruptive at all, I was simply very interested and excited to view the museum and after that the tour guide made us very uncomfortable for the rest of it. Not only that, but the tour was very lacking of any real purpose. Considering it was part of a coffee factory I had assumed there would be some kind of interactive aspect to it to make up for the ticket being so expensive, but there was nothing except looking through windows. At one point he let us smell the green beans, and I thought he would continue down and let us smell the beans in a roasting progression, he did not. They have an opportunity to offer a really interesting experience and instead I felt very uncomfortable and un welcomed. I did not ask for any special treatment from them, simply to experience the tour with my boyfriend. I feel like if they're trying to be open to foreign visitors they need to train their...
Read moreDisclaimer! I was here when it was not busy at all. From what I hear, this place is an absolute zoo normally, and that would make me rate this lower.
For a real coffee lover, this place is killer. They have single origin and blends from all over the world. All of the beans are roasted in-house, and the staff are very good at prepping the coffee. It can be a bit pricey (I paid 10,000 KRW for a cup of their most expensive hand drip), but the coffee is stellar.
I drove 2 hours (actually 4 if you consider the return trip) for the coffee and loved it. Granted, I didn't drive all this way only for the coffee, but it was the one must-do thing on my list. Definitely...
Read moreThis is the 'original' location of Tera Rosa. The restaurant is pretty good and so is the bakery. They have long since remodeled which destroyed the original buildings and their character, now this is just like any other large Tera Rosa. This place does get stupidly busy though, and they seem to have a slow time in making coffee even when not very busy. The last time we visited here, despite short lines, I was told that it would take 20 minutes to make an ice coffee. It didn't used to be like this, and the coffee is still quite good, but the slowness of the service and this location being like the others is what takes...
