From the same design team behind Mukri 459 (Post No. 116), Roshua Coffee (Post No. 145) and Go-Yo Sae (Post No. 128), D-Scape (opened March 2021) is yet another example of the creative potential of Korean architects “Denova”’ setting the standard in minimalist cafe design.

Springing abruptly up out of the Goyang countryside, the large geometric blocks that make up the cafe are painted in a rich Mars-like crimson, playing on the surreal context of this “dreamscape” structure. Contrasting with the roughly textured exterior walls, the interior is composed of a series of smooth tiled minimalist spaces with low lying windows that cleverly create a subtle...

Nice architecture? Yes. Nice cafe? Not really. If you are looking for a cafe or a weekend out place with family, this is not the one. It is busy with loud crowds and the parking lot is always full. Still, the building itself is a fancy outcome of modern architecture...

벼가 자라는 논 옆에 있어요. 주로 자가용으로 방문을 합니다. 주차장이 꽤 넓은데 실내에 자리는 그렇게 많지 않아요. 건물이 이뻐서 좋았어요. 실내도 괜찮았고 2층도 있고 2층엔 테라스도 있어요. 1층에서 커피를 마셨는데 2층을 잠깐 구경을 했는데 2층에 올라가서 통로를 지나 원형 룸으로 들어갈 때는 일본 여행에서 방문했던 미술관이 생각났어요. 같이 간 좋은 분도 그 미술관을 가 봤는데 그분도 2층에 올라가서 원형 룸을 보고 그 미술관이 생각나 났다고 하시네요. 건물도 이쁘고 실내도 괜찮고 특히 벽에 유리창을 길게 달아놔 특이하다 생각했어요. 사실 유리창 앞에 앉아도 특별한 뷰는 없어요. 그리고 가장 중요한 커피 맛. 원두를 고를 수 있었는데 산미가 나는 원두를 골랐는데 산미는 안 느껴졌고 커피는 정말 제 입에는 별로였어요. 빵은 안 먹어봐서 모르겠네요. 다음에 근처를 지난다면 한 번쯤 들릴 것도 같아요. 커피 맛을 좀 더 신경 써 주시면 좋을 거 같습니다. 아 입구 문이 굉장히 커요. 360도 회전인데 이 문도...
