Gallery Cafe Bom — Restaurant in Gwacheon-si

과천에서 괜찮은 이탈리안 레스토랑이라고 들어 오래 전부터 방문을 고민하다가 드디어 가보게 되었습니다. 하지만 전체적인 후기는 솔직히 기대에 비해 다소 실망스러웠습니다.

우선 대중교통 접근성이 좋지 않아 차를 가져갈 수밖에 없었는데, 임시 야외주차장과 건물 내 지하주차장을 함께 운영하는 것 같았습니다. 문제는 야외주차장 안내 표지판이 너무 작아서 그걸 보지 못하고 지하주차장에 주차하게 되었고, 입구부터 통로까지 모두 일차선이라 굉장히 협소하고 불편했습니다. 들어오는 차량과 나가는 차량이 마주치면 사고가 날 뻔한 순간도 있었고요. 게다가 지하주차장에서 식당으로 올라가는 엘리베이터 구간이 매우 습하고 곰팡이 냄새가 심해, 식당 도착 전부터 기분이 많이 역했습니다.

음식은 전체적으로 맛있었지만, 가격에 비해 만족도는 낮았습니다. 레스토랑의 음식, 분위기, 서비스, 시설 등을 고려하더라도 전반적으로 가격이 과하게 책정되어 있다는 느낌을 지울 수 없었습니다. 특히 바닐라 아이스크림은 11,000원에 작은 스쿱 3덩이만 나오는 구성이었는데, 어떤 고급 아이스크림을 사용했는지 몰라도, 최소한 과일이나 토핑이라도 조금 얹어줬다면 납득이 됐을 것 같습니다.

과천 맛집으로 꼽히길래 더 큰 기대를 안고 방문했던 저녁 식사였지만, 여러모로 아쉬움이 남는 경험이었습니다.

I had been wanting to visit this Italian restaurant in Gwacheon for quite some time, as it was often recommended as a popular spot in the area. However, to be honest, the overall experience was somewhat disappointing.

First of all, it’s not easily accessible by public transportation, so we had to drive. The restaurant seems to operate both a temporary outdoor parking lot and an underground parking garage, but the sign for the outdoor lot was so small that we missed it and ended up parking in the basement. Unfortunately, the underground garage was narrow and difficult to navigate, with single-lane paths throughout. At one point, we almost had a collision because the entrance and exit share the same narrow lane.

What made it worse was the strong, unpleasant smell of mold and the damp air in the elevator area between the parking lot and the restaurant. It really took the energy out of us before we even sat down.

If you’re driving a large vehicle, I strongly recommend using the outdoor lot and avoiding the basement parking entirely.

As for the food, it wasn’t bad, but it felt overpriced for what we received. While I understand that pricing reflects not just food but also ambiance, service, and facilities, I couldn’t shake the feeling that the cost was excessive. In particular, the dessert was a letdown: ₩11,000 for three small scoops of ice cream with nothing else. I’m not sure how premium the ice cream was, but even a small garnish or fruit would’ve helped justify the price.

I came with high expectations, especially since it’s considered one of Gwacheon’s top restaurants, but overall, it turned out to be a rather underwhelming...

Fufills all functions- coffee shop, restaurant, casual drinks with food (drinking food starts at 5pm), and dessert. A bit pricey, but not crazy. The food is good quality and tastes really nice. Portion sizes are fine, but not too large. I hear the most famous thing is the steak hoagie (there are quite a few varieties of hoagie) and it was enjoyable, but didn't feel special to me. Awefully crowded, the people working here are so busy they do not care to give you the menu. Food is okay but remember to have lots of patience when waiting for your food.

The salad was decent, the pizza okay but the sandwich was mushy- the bread was too soft while the sauce runs all over the place.

Coffee was strong and good. I give stars for the coffee and the ambience...
