Since 1969, this restaurant has been specializing in Gukbap and Naengmyeon in north korean style. It's already polular, so there's a long waiting line at peak time on weekends. There are not many menus and it is simple, but each dish is tasty. * Gukbap (rice soup): The rich and clean taste of the soup is excellent. * Naengmyeon (cold noodles) in north korean (hwanghaedo style): It is characterized by a clean taste by making soup with only vegetables and fruits. Red pepper and seaweed are added and the seasoning is made with sugar. Except for two pieces of meat, all of them are made of vegetables. It is very harmonious to eat them with Makgeolli and Nabak Kimchi, a specialty of Ganghwa Island. The prices are very reasonable and the portion is sufficient.

I have been here several times and it never disappoints. Our favorites are the gukbap (rice soup) with pork and naengmyeon (cold noodles). The gukbap is served plenty of meat with a rich tasting broth. It is not seasoned and you can adjust it according to your taste by adding salt, shrimp paste, gochugaru etc. Their naengmyeon is one of the best I have had. The style is North Korean since Gyodong is very near the border. Their side dishes are so good too especially the radish kimchi. Their restaurant is one of the oldest in the town and the building structure is like a house or traditional hanok. Service is quick and we left with full and satisfied tummies.

The cold noodles in the broth made with vegetables are already cool with the first chopsticks! The sweet and chewy bibim naengmyeon makes your taste full, and the meat soup is savory and thick, making your stomach feel better. These three have no problem with summer or winter, thin ice and air conditioner wind, let's eat together!
