명리동식당 — Restaurant in Jeju

Unbelievably good service. Food was great. This place was packed with locals and we saw how good the reviews were so we walked in. Exceeded our expectations (wait for it). We were visitors with young kids in tow, and despite language differences they made us feel completely at home. They had our meats grilled and prepped and gave us a lot of attention despite the busy service. The Surprise: We could not call a cab as our accommodation was too near to drive but too far to walk (and down some pitch black roads through a secluded area). The proprietor OFFERED US A LIFT. He had already started his car when we saw a lone cab drive by and frantically flagged it down. Thankfully the driver was kind enough to accept the fare despite the short distance. Highlight of our trip. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Really delicious black pork bbq, cooked over charcoal, kimchi stew was flavourful and filling as well. Family owned place, and they were all really friendly. Minimal English but they were patient, friendly, and warm. Cooked our food for us and encouraged us to help ourselves to more sides even. Ordered two servings of meat, two rice, and a kimchi stew for abt ₩50000. Well...

English review: Had the fried side pork and kimchichigae. All of it and the side dishes were yummy. The place was really clean, the view was really pretty. Most importantly, the stoves they have were really warm. This review was written on a cold, rainy spring day.
