We were a party of five and saw the glowing reviews and decided to come here. On the day of our trip to Udo from Jeju Island (Sept 11) the Cheon Jin port (which is closer to Poyoyo) was closed and the port up north, around 2KM away was the only option.
Nonetheless, we decided to walk the 2KM to Poyoyo. Halfway through our walk it started pouring torrential rain. We finally arrived at Poyoyo soaked in water. The owner (a lady) immediately offered a towel to us, noticing how wet we were.
We proceeded to order three peanut ice creams and a chrysanthemum tea. All were delicious, especially the peanut ice cream. Rich, flavourful, and the only place on the island that serves it not in soft serve.
After we finished our ice cream, it was still pouring and there were no taxis or buses in sight and we were panicking as to how to get back to Jeju since the port was 2KM back the other way. The owner first helped us call to get bus information but that tourney out to not be feasible given three weather. She then actually called in an employee and took us back to the port through her own private car. We tried to pay but she would not let us!
If you are the owner of Poyoyo and are reading this, we are truly touched by your graciousness, hospitality, and kindness. We donโt know what we would have done without you. To everyone else, come for the delicious ice cream, and stay and return for the beautiful folks that...
