I was very impressed with this restaurant. Each dish was well thought out both in presentation and taste. Nothing was too salty or sweet. Everything was honestly perfect. The 칼치 (cutlass fish) is what this restaurant is known for. We ordered their 칼치조림 (braised fish that boils in a redish colored slightly sweet and spicy broth with Jeju radish). 칼치 is a long silvered colored fish that is cut up and all the bones have been removed which is awesome and makes it so convenient to eat. It comes in a big bowl that boils and cooks at your table for about 12 minutes. While that cooks you can enjoy all the side dishes as well as the grilled 고등어 (mackerel) which is perfectly seasoned and soft. The picture of the mackerel unfortunately was partially eaten by us before I could take the photo. It was that good! It has a very rich taste. The brasied cutlass fish melts in your mouth and is delicious over a spoon of rice. If I had to say anything negative about the restaurant it would be the atmosphere. It has a slight cafeteria style ambience. Very very slight. I don't usually give five stars to restaurants. Well deserved. You won't regret coming here unless you have some crazy off palate and like your food too sweet or salty. Oh! And there are these 🍊 trees right outside of where we were seated which was very...
Read moreTourist trap. Not worth the money AT ALL. It's SO EXPENSIVE at $88 for 2 pax for a long cutlass grilled fish and a small stew. The grilled fish was tasty and authentic. A little salty with the sea salt flakes on top. But the small fish stew is greatly disappointing, there seems to be no flavour or umami to it. This place is very spacious and service is very good, but it's simply not worth the price! Will not recommend. I have been to smaller mom and pop restaurants in jeju that serve similar dishes at a more affordable rate and tastes even better. Trust me, you're burning your money here. This place was built just for foreign tourists and tour groups. Didn't see any Koreans...
Read moreWe went there around 2pm on Sunday and had a very short wait for table for 2. The menu is very simple - special local fish, grilled, cooked or a mix, with a lot of extra small plates (kimchi, salad, tempura pork, pumpkin soup with rice, and various other things). But the main focus was the fish, which was absolutely delicious. A very nice waiter handled getting the bones out for us, so we could enjoy the meal without worrying about chocking on the bones. At 78k for 2 it is not exactly cheap, but I'd say it was definitely worth it. It filled us for hours, I actually don't recommend going there for dinner, unless you don't mind being stuffed before...
