We visited on a Saturday evening with a party of four. I called ahead just in case, but reservations were not necessary. The building itself looks a bit dated, and the entrance is somewhat cluttered, which might give a slightly disorganized first impression. However, don't let that deter you. The interior is spacious with well-spaced tables, and they have large private rooms perfect for groups or families seeking a more intimate dining experience. The huge parking lot is also a major plus.
The staff, while dressed very casually (almost like they just came from the gym), were sincere, kind, and attentive.
But the real star here is the foodโit's absolutely phenomenal. You can taste the freshness of the local Jeju ingredients in every dish. We ordered the Braised Cutlassfish Set for four (โฉ100,000), a bottle of foxtail millet makgeolli (rice wine, โฉ5,000), and a Pepsi Lime (โฉ3,000), for a total of โฉ108,000. I particularly enjoyed the foxtail millet makgeolli, which wasn't overly sweet and paired beautifully with the food. The set included grilled tilefish (Okdom) and grilled mackerel, both of which were delicious. The main event, the braised cutlassfish (Galchi-jjim), was perfectly seasoned; the sauce was rich and flavorful without being too salty. The abalone pot rice (Jeonbok-sotbap) that came with the meal was a true masterpiece.
As a starter, they served a complimentary Jeju-style sweet rice cake, which was a unique and welcoming touch. It had a texture similar to Yakbap and was a delightful way to begin the meal.
