Yeonhuiwon — Restaurant in Seogwipo-si

Came here for the lotus leaf and fish as it would suit my 6 yr old son. We were in for a treat! The view was great and atmosphere was nice as owner was playing some classic 90s english love songs. They had translated menu and the generous amount of sides were too much for us.. yet too good to not eat them so we finished as much as we could. The owners (looks like a couple - a quiet local man and an gentle Indian lady) ran the whole show from cooking to serving. It was really like home cooked meal. My husband said the fish were tough to his liking but I liked it so each to its preference. He loves the chap chye mixed veg though. We both love the pork patty and as other has reviewed, it is really good and portion is big for 2 adults. To add on, the sides weren't the typical kind and seems mostly self created. Price wise isnt cheap but also not that expensive. I feel it is worth. We came right during opening but groups of locals came in soon after. Seatings were limited as there were like maybe 8 tables x 4 pax. The restaurant is so quaint and it is quite out of nowhere with some farms and residences. I could see a big dome on top which looks like the house of the owner. So they might be running the restaurant below their residence. We went to yeonhuiwon to view the beautiful sun set from the picturesque window seat as we enjoyed a lovely home cooked feast! This is really a hidden gem, and we are so glad to have tried this restaurant. The couple are really lovely, as we couldn't speak Korean, they tried speaking Chinese to us instead. We tried the yellow corvina fish set (29000 won) and the lotus rice set (20,000 won) and both were spectacular. My favorite dish was the meat patty, the pumpkin porridge and the jap chae!!! If you are foreigner especially who can speak Chinese i won’t recommend to go eat here They are very rube and pushing you to leave asap lol very bad experience in Jeju

외국인 시댁 가족들과 제주도에 여행 왔습니다.

펜션 사장님이 외국인들 데리고 가기 좋은 곳이라고 추천해 주셔서 갔는데 완전 대실망이네요 … 최악이에요.

사장님 이해합니다 저희 예약된 시간 보다 20분 늦어서 처음 들어가자마자 빨리 먹고 나가라고 하시는 거 굉장히 불쾌했지만 저희 잘못이니 인정합니다.

통창으로 제주 서쪽 노을을 감상하시며, 식사 할 수 있습니다. 라고 쓰지 마셨어야죠 …? 감상은 커녕

저희 어른 10명 어린이 2명 (5,7살) 영유아 3명 갔는데 처음엔 10명 꺼 시켰더니 정색하시면서 더 시키라고 눈치 주시고 …시키고 부족하면 더 시킨다니 안된다 하시고 단품도 안된다 하시고 하지만 외국인들이라 한국 음식 못 먹는 어린애 둘 것까지 시키게 만드시고 아예 입에도 안대라고요. 아주 감사합니다 억지로 시키게 해주셔서…근데 메뉴엔 왜 “초등학생 이상은 1인 메뉴 주문 “ 이라고 왜 적으셨나요 ?

마지막까지 두 분이나 와서 빨리 먹고 나가라고 하시던 사장님들…. 진짜 체할 뻔했습니다. 아니요 아직 얹혀 있어요..

너무너무 시어른들께 창피하고 죄송해서 혼났네요ㅋㅋ제 시 가족들도 눈치 보고 먹고 나왔습니다. 가족들이 저한테 물어 보더군요 원래 제주도 사람들은 이렇게 불친절 하냐고 저는 어떻게 설명해줘야 할지 모르겠다라고요 많이 속상하고 부끄러워서👍👍👍👍😅

한국적인 음식 대접해 드리겠다고 하고 모시고 갔다 왔는데 눈칫밥 만 먹고 돈만 쓰고 왔어요 …정말 돈 아깝고 시간 아깝고 리뷰 쓰는 제 손가락만 아프네요.

단체라 불편할 수 있을까 봐 일부러 주말 아닌 월요일 11시로 예약했던 거였는데 그런 식으로 장사하시면 안 되죠.
