The brainchild of Cho Yongmin, the YM Coffee Project is comprised of three different venues, (1) YM Coffee Project, (2) YM Espresso Room and (3) YM Roasting Factory (under construction). Both café spaces (1) and (2) are very unique in character and leave an equally deep impression on the customer. The former has been running now for over 5 years while their most recent venture, the Espresso Room opened in the midst of Covid-19 during the summer of 2020.
Aside from running two cafes YM Coffee Project roasts coffee beans for wholesale, runs barista training courses and cafe consultant services. Coffee enthusiasts are welcome to join their coffee bean subscription service or pay for YM’s “Home Café Classes” where each participant can take a crash course in how to brew their own pour over coffee.
YM Espresso Room is located at the end of Line 3, near Gupabal, but the interior tells a very different story. Inspired by European cathedrals while working in London and Budapest, Cho Yongmin has brought tranquillity to this suburban apartment complex. Lit by candles in the evening, this is a truly unique setting for an espresso. Atop the altar sits their prized La Marzocco 2 Group Linea PB Espresso machine, supported by Mazzer, Victoria Arduino and Anfim grinders.
