We came for Sunday lunch, admittedly without a reservation, but they offered us a table, so we assumed they could cater for us. The table was in a room off the main restaurant which was terribly echoey. A rug and a few cushions would help a lot with that. It was difficult to hear anything clearly. We speak Spanish but the first waitress insisted on speaking to us in English, which was annoying. The second waitress was terrible. She was rude and trying to hurry us. My food was OK. My husband ordered trout which was uncooked in the middle. We couldn't get anyone's attention to return it. The menu was 34€ without wine, which has increased considerably since our last visit. I understand the restaurant has recently changed hands with a new chef. Of course, the location is amazing but cannot be appreciated when you are in an echoey room inside. If they want to attract local diners like us, the service and quality of cooking will need to improve considerably. Many other local restaurants have a much better offering at a more competitive price. I cannot recommend...
Read moreI was very lucky to celebrate my 40th here today. I didn't have much hope of finding anywhere this nice to eat off-season on a Thursday afternoon, especially with 2 dogs in tow, and I honestly couldn't have wished for a better experience. We speak French and English but no Spanish and the waiting staff, aside from being extremely attentive and welcoming, also kindly made an effort to speak to us in English which was much appreciated! The old mountain village location is perfect with stunning views over the water from the grassy terrace garden. The garden is well shaded with parasols and not too crowded and even has the odd feline visitor! The restaurant is good for a formal dinner and less formal drop-ins too. The quality of the food was absolutely superb, beautifully cooked and plated, generously portioned and exceptional value for money. Thank you to Casa Falceto for a very memorable birthday lunch and I would...
Read moreThis is a TRUE gem. It's worth the drive (90 mins in our case). The location is SUPERB (after lunch, keep driving into the land finger until you reach the dam). The ambiance is comfortable, you will have a nice meal in a large garden under beautiful trees and cooled down by the breeze.
The food was magnificent. It's truly incredible they reach this level of ingridients and execution so far away from the beaten path.
Also make sure you try some of their best wines. I loved the one I had so much (Zinca bin de ric) I unsuccessfully tried to buy a couple of bottles to go. Thankfully, they guided me toward the wine store that supplies them.
If you find yourself in Huesca city or in Aínsa,...
