Acudí al lugar después de llamar para interesarme por su cocina y saber si tenían el plato oliaigua. Me indicaron que sí y cuando llego, me informan de que había habido un error y que ellos no cocinaban ese plato. Decidí quedarme, y comí en el bonito y cuidado restaurante, cuya gran terraza y lindos alrededores reciben al cliente. La misma persona que me atendió vía telefónica, me recomendó probar los buñuelos de escarola. Lo hice, y el plato debo confesar que estaba delicioso. No obstante, el nombre de buñuelo lleva a engaño pues es verdura rebozada en tempura. A pesar de ello, lo recomiendo tanto por la cantidad, la presentación y la buena relación calidad/precio (10€). Previamente me sirvieron de aperitivo un vasito de salmorejo: delicioso y sin coste. De segundo plato decidí tomar un solomillo de cerdo con crema de queso de Mahón. Estaba espectacular y bien presentado. Merecen la pena los 17,90€ del plato. De postre, elegí brownie con helado de vainilla que si bien estaba muy rico, la cantidad no era excesiva al contrario que el precio (8,50€). La verdad que, a pesar del error que se produjo en la conversación telefónica, me gustó el restaurante y la comida estaba muy buena. Por ello, considero que es una buena opción para comer. No puntúo con 5* por la incidencia comentada y porque considero que se debe mejorar el acceso al aparcamiento así como el estado del mismo.

Al vespre, segur que sopar a l'exterior, deu ser espectacular. Excepte el que semblava el propietari, la resta no entenen ni un borrall de català (ni de menorquí), trist. La noia que ens ha atès, no ha sabut informar-nos correctament dels tres trossos de carn que ens ha ofert fora de carta, i sobretot dels preus. Un cop ens hem decidit per dos dels trossos, resulta que quan ens els han portat, s'havia equivocat en un d'ells. Ho considero una errada molt greu tractant-se d'uns imports tan elevats. Mai havíem pagat tants diners per dues costelles de vedella i n'hem menjat unes quantes. Finalment hem accedit a quedar-nos-els i menjar el que ens havien fet erròniament. Eren molt bons, tot i que un d'ells amb molt greix. La sorpresa ha estat, quan han decidit no tenir cap gest per intentar minimitzar l'error. Un restaurant a l'alçada, segur que hauria fet alguna cosa. Per cert, les carxofes no estaven fetes a la brasa, tot i que ho hem consultat prèviament. Amb tot, lamento haber de dir, que no tenim previst tornar-hi i menys recomanar el lloc. Ho sento.

Hemos llegado y en el parking había 4 coches (normal ahora lo entenderéis). La comida en especial la carne es congelada (deberían ver los programas de chicote para saber que la gente no es idiota y que no vale poner cualquier cosa) El ambiente esta bien si te gusta comer con moscas, perros sueltos alado de la mesa, y sobre todo recalcó lo de la carne han tardado 40 minutos en traer un solomillo (normal era congelado y estaba aguado) y FRÍO y aunque se lo hemos dicho la camarera que parece que le faltan unos cuantos telediarios … nos negaba lo evidente. Os aviso de que vais a comer o cenar mal y de qué si está vacío y no vuelve la gente es por algo. Al restaurante le digo, tratar a los clientes como tontos y así os irá, no os doy mucho tiempo con esto abierto.

We chose Stuffed pepper ( Cod and vegetable ) and a black pudding starter. A complimentary mini appetiser of broth was brought to the table just before the starters arrived. Next the main courses, One of my daughters and I had the Sirloin steak, my wife had the belly of pork ( The special of the day ) another daughter had the homemade burger and my youngest had her usual of spaghetti. All the meat was cooked to how we had asked and tasted magnificent. The portions were generous and presented beautifully. The sauces we had chosen tasted marvellous ( Cheese / peppercorn / herb and oil ). Next up was Homemade chocolate and walnut brownie times two and a homemade strawberry mousse which were delivered to the table and devoured. Everything about our visit to Es Forn was perfect. The service was excellent and all the immaculately presented waitresses were polite,friendly and attentive. The food was generous and fabulous, tasting and smelling beautiful. All this coupled to a charmingly rustic building and location created the ideal last Menorquin supper for us. We expected the bill to be larger than it was considering the service, location and wondrous food when it was subtly delivered to the table, it was a happy surprise, €136.40. 31/7/2018 We'd eaten here three years ago on our last visit to Menorca so were expecting big things. We'd booked our table a couple of days before for 19.00 just as the restaurant opens. Once seated and settled we ordered some drinks as we decided what to choose from the menu. Our waitress, Cristina was fantastic and explained the daily specials and happily answered all of our questions. Cristina went above and beyond to ensure the vegan in our group had a few options and even brought out a couple of unexpected morsels for her to eat, which was unexpected as this is a meat eater's paradise. We started with the sausage grinder( sausage and black pudding), the potatas Bravas and the cheese with tomato, all were very tasty. We then ordered the Uruguayan and Menorcan steaks medium rare. The Menorcan steaks were super tender but there were parts a bit too rare. The Uruguayan steaks weren't as nice. A couple of desserts, chocolate pudding and a local dessert were shared among us to finish the meal. A few beers, bottles of water and cocktails helped wash it all down. It weighed in at €232 for the six of us , €38 a head. The food was not as good as our first visit. The service was still professional and attentive and the restaurant is a lovely place to enjoy your meal. Our first visit had cost €136 for five of us to eat three years earlier, three years later and an extra person cost roughly €100 more. It was the second time that my partner and I went to Es Forn de Torre Soli Nou and to keep it short: IT WAS JUST PERFECT.

What a great afternoon we had. OK - to be honest - it` s not that easy to find and to enter the parking area is a bit "bumby". But the restaurant, a former old farm house with authentic Menorquin elements, is absolutely worth to visit. For me and my partner three points are important to enjoy a perfect lunch or dinner experience:

1: the quality of the food 2: the ambiance 3: the service.

Well, and I don't say this that often: all those 3 important points are getting an "EXCELENT" from me. We got a beautiful table next to the chimney in a very cosy little room. We could also choose for a table in the former old authentic kitchen of the farmer house. Actually all the rooms are nice but those two rooms are already my favourites. The quality of the food is phantastic - prepared with own garden herbs and home-made bread. The tiramisu was realy one of the best I ever had. And the service: 10 of 10 points! The couple who is managing the restaurant are giving you the feeling that you are their private guest. Very natural, no exaggerated service - two beautiful hearts are beating in this very special restaurant. My comment sounds maybe not credible but please: do me a favour and make your own experience at Es Forn de Torre Soli Nou. We reserved a table at their website and it worked perfectly. So; if you are spending your holidays in beautiful Menorca, you know where to go to for having a great lunch (winter) or Dinner in Summer at their beautiful terrace. BON PROFIT -...

On arriving in the car park dont worry that its not tarmac or marked out into parking spaces, just go with it. Walk along the sloping pathway, which is a little uneven but again dont be put off. The greeting on arrival was as very welcoming and professional, we were led to our pre booked table for two. We had chosen to eat outside but it is still under cover. There were some less formal but delightful places to sit and drink if you so wish. The table service was excellent and the majority of the staff had good English, certainly better than our Spanish! Menus were by Bar code, but also available in paper form so no issue. We were literally shown the three special meats for two people, and believe me the were very impressive! We chose the Chateaubriand, which is just slightly undercooked to your "point" we like it medium rare. With the meat came a separate extremely hot plate to finish cooking each cut to your exact liking at your table. This dish wasn't the cheapest, but l can honestly say this was the BEST steak l have ever tasted and l mean EVER ! It was so tender and no waste at all. A little tip is that it can drop a little cool around 9pm so take a shawl if you are sensitive to a slight drop in air temperature. All in all this is a very nice place to spend an evening, that has a wonderful atmosphere and top quality food. We will definitely return very soon to enjoy this delightful old converted and...
