This place was recommended to us by one of close friends. The interior is truly beautiful, clean, outside calm sitting area, tapas style food also very tasty! You can tell it’s one of those exquisite places and therefore you set your expectations high! Unfortunately our experience was very poor. Managed to book a table online and 30mins before the booking I received a call (also poor service, had to hung up twice and cal again) that the hotel is fully booked however we could sit and eat at the bar. Understandable, so we have accepted. Arrived at 7pm, being the first people arriving at the restaurant it took 45mins for waiter to take our order. At this point all tables were more or less still empty (meaning we could easily eat by the table before the place got actually full). Have ordered one starter and two positions from main menu). The waiting time for first dish was 45mins-received one of the mains (still no starter). Half an our later we have kindly reminded of ourselves and the response we received that this is tapas so the main idea is sharing - not sure what to share as we still haven’t received the full order and managed to finish the whole jug of sangria in a meantime. 5 mins later a waiter came to check what food we were missing, we then received the plates and new cutlery(?). The rest of the food came after 30mins since we received the main. Starter came last. We then waited 15mins to get the bill and had to remind about that too. I understand that it got busier later in the evening but we were the first people to come to the restaurant (opens at 7pm and we were there 7.01pm). Felt like we were being forgotten about, compared to other tables. I must add that we were served by 5 different waiters, which none of them knew what’s going on. Expectations set very high and such disappointment, such as shame as the place has got...
Read moreAfter seeing really mixed reviews, mostly about the poor service at the restaurant, I thought- how bad could it be? I live in London and work in Paris often, I wasn’t expecting a formal restaurant service and am used to French briskness. The wait staff are about the same age as my husband and me, but I have never in my life been so condescended to. Took half an hour and 3 plates of food on the table before the first drink arrived. Another waiter was keen to get the wine list back to a table of middle aged men, who I imagine he thinks will be more worthwhile, before we could look at it- so no wine for us! The food was incredible, some of the best we’ve had on our holiday. It’s hard to enjoy when you suddenly someone is silently swooping in when they see a half finished plate of food, not even asking if you are done with it (we were not). I really imagined it being different, some cocktails with snacks and then maybe a bottle of wine with dinner, followed by some dessert and maybe even more cocktails? We had 3 waiters ask if we wanted dessert in 5 minutes, 5 minutes after finishing our mains. We just had to get out of there. We would have loved to spend more time and more money! We would have loved to have loved our meal and book our next stay at the hotel. I have never seen a waiter scrape plates at the table, dropping a bone on the floor and leaving it there, it was like a comedy sketch. There is no management, and the vision is being lost in the chaos. Take the opportunity and listen to the feedback from your many negative customer reviews and change the ridiculous booking system, hire a decent manager and train your...
Read moreIf you're not a guest staying in the hotel, don't even bother going. We got to our spa appointment a bit early, as we were told the hotel/restaurant was pretty secluded, so we decided to go to the restaurant for a drink and tapas while we waited. We actually had booked a reservation for dinner that same day, and rest assured we did not come back. All of the staff looked annoyed we were there, took 5 minutes to find us a table when the restaurant was completely empty. Five minutes after they had finally sat us down, the parasol fell on top of us. (Could have honestly hurt any one of us very bad.) Thankfully we had a lovely gentleman sitting right beside us who jumped to our rescue. Once we finally managed to put it back up again, the couple behind us told us they had not been allowed to sit on our table because the staff thought it was dangerous for them. (They were hotel guests, guess they don't care for the safety of non hotel guests) While all this happened, all the wait staff and bartenders just stared and laughed at us. It literally took them ten minutes to evaluate the scenario and move us to another table. I've never had such a bad experience in a restaurant before, and it's a shame, because we were actually recommended by really good...
