Restaurante Umami — Restaurant in Alozaina

Food was great. Big portions. Very tasty. Expensive enough in Spanish terms but wurth it. Waiter was more interested in talking to the locals then servicing us. We were going to have desserts but because we were a. Fairly full (which is a good thing) b. He wasnt very reachable. As for the atmosphere. unfortunately that was ruined by the "local" drunk. Funny at first irritating very quickly. Luckly some other locals (very nice people) kept him at bay. When we wallked back we noticed that other places were a lot more busy. On the same road. Not sure if locals know about the issues we faced. Bottom line with some proper management this could be a top notch place.

Just want to give reply to below reply of owner. No issue with the prices. It is value for money. With what concerns the drunk. I well believe he is harmless but you have to understand that it can put a dumper...

Excellent, we were very impressed!

We are visiting the area for the first time and are delighted to have found this restaurant early in our stay. We love the decor and ambience and they serve first class coffee. We have returned to eat several times in the evening and the food is excellent and very good value, especially for the portion size, (with no compromise on quality). The duck was divine and the entrecôte tasty and a fine cut. The salads are delicious - imaginative and different. Last night the lights were dimmed to serve my goat cheese salad flambeed. Definitely not ‘run of the mill’. This restaurant stands out and they deserve every success. So impressed were we, we shall likely visit this delightful town with a view to returning to...

Saturday night and we were the only ones in the restaurant.

Food was ok. Goat cheese salad was nice. Bread was fine but 1 EUR per piece is kind of overpriced.

The Lagrimas de Pollo were also very tender with a little incident that some pieces were not cooked enough.

The Brochetas de Jabali were ok but quite salty.

The butter that came in with the bread was stored outside and was already very yellow (rancid).

The staff was very nice and helpful though and it is such a pity that the food quality is not matching their nice vibe.

Unfortunately cannot recommend to anyone and hopefully this review will be taken constructively...
