Restaurante El Pescaíto — Restaurant in Armilla

It was sad that I have had my worst restaurant experience in Spain (I’ve been here for 2 months). The food was a 7/10 but the service left me angry, unfulfilled, and offended.

We had a party of 7, sat outside which was fine but then the terrible process began. We ordered our first drinks to find out a new rule of no tapas if you are sitting outside. Fine. But then we ordered a plate of chicken wings, 22 minutes goes by before the waiter comes back with them. He hadn’t checked on us once, drinks were empty, we were hungry, and the wings showed up. They were covered with feathers. For a restaurant with higher than average prices this was absolutely unacceptable and they literally did not give a damn. We told the waiter to take it back and he came back after pulling the feathers off in the kitchen and returned the same exact plate of food to our table.

I could go on but you see the point. The entire experience was horrible. I was expecting someone to come out an apologize but that was like expecting a miracle. So sad but I will NEVER return. Neither will the other 6 people or...

We ate there 4 times. Grilled octopus, grilled squid, great red wine. Lots of people ate huge portions of mixed fried seafood (1 is plenty for 2). We also had seafood zarzuela - awesome. Delicious food, friendly service, no frills, but perfect. Thank you Tete (our server with a beard) for always greeting us with a huge smile. This is a hidden gem only locals know about. Simply awful. Worst experience we've had in Spain. Service with a frown. Wanted to have paella for our kids but that would have taken 40 minutes. They served us prawns in salt as a free starter; shouldn't have bothered: tasteless and gooey, may have well served us soaked tissue paper. Ended up ordering breaded chicken and chips for our kids and nothing for us as there was nothing that we wanted to gamble our money on due to the cost. We did order fried squid but this was far from fresh....
